The Democrats and Republicans might have somehow agreed on something now and that is a strong point of view that the 81-year-old Biden is very old to run for a second term. The poll numbers are reflecting these and are now hurting the liberals.
In an Associated Press-NORC Survey released in August, a quarter of adults or 77 percent of adults in the US believe Biden is too old to be effective for another term. Ironically, 69 percent of the respondents were Democrats.

A study by the Wall Street Journal shows similar results, with only 36 percent of respondents believing that Biden is “mentally up for the job.”
Many democrats have observed a significant decline in Biden’s physical and mental capacity. A voter from Pennsylvania noted, “You can see, even from the beginning of his presidency until now, there’s definitely been some decline — and that’s worrisome.”
“Just watching and listening to Biden it’s pretty self-evident he is not what he was,” said Greg Pack, a registered nurse.
“Biden just seems to be very compromised by age-related conditions,” said Eric Dezenhall, 60, a corporate scandal-management consultant who has followed Trump’s career and worked in Ronald Reagan’s White House. “Even people who like him see him as being frail and not altogether ‘there.’”
For many Democratic voters, Biden’s age is the main point of contention.
Last September, ABC News and the Washington Post held a survey and found that at least 74 percent of the respondents think that Biden is “too old.”
According to Sarah Longwell, a Republican strategist, “many voters aren’t feeling the benefits of the economy.”
“They think Biden is too old, and they don’t think he’s doing a good job.”
However, the president insists that “he is fit.”
Biden has been in the news for his unhinged speeches and physical falls. He is the oldest U.S. president in American history. He was 78 at his 2021 inauguration.
Although some consider Trump to be pretty old too, according to the Wall Street Journal poll, at least 46 percent believe Trump is mentally fit for the presidency.
One factor is how the former presents himself with vigor and ideas with articulation, while Biden is often seen as hesitant, at times pausing to think, and fragile.
Another Democrat respondent during the survey said, “[Trump] does not falter, he doesn’t mumble and he doesn’t fall off the steps.”
Despite voters’ doubts, Biden remains the liberals’ best bet.
