The actor and Academy Award winner Jon Voight is the host of a Newsmax exclusive special called “The Abraham Accords” with former President Donald Trump. It debuted on Sunday.
The show features an in-depth interview with Trump and details the historic achievements made in regard to peace in the Middle East. The mainstream media largely ignored the signing of the accords, but it was amazing to witness.
The mini-documentary outlines the “most significant advancement toward peace in the Middle East.” It’s a normalization agreement between Isreal and the United Arab Emirates. It was expanded to include Bahrain.
Now the actor is worried that the Biden administration is going to put the region back in turmoil with the Iran Nuclear Deal.
While speaking to Eric Bolling on Newsmax previewing the upcoming special, Voight said viewers would see a different side of the 45th president.
In his conversation with Trump, Voight went on to relay a story about how Trump assisted one of his golf course employees who had been diagnosed with cancer.
Voight said, “You went into the place you said, ‘Is Sally so-and-so working here today?’ And she came in and you said, ‘I hear you’re having a little bit of a difficulty. Well, I have some cancer’ she said. See? I’m getting emotional.”
Voight gets choked up telling the story about a man he feels has been mischaracterized in the media for the past six or seven years.
“You keep saying you can’t watch ‘The Champ’ without crying, well, I can’t go through this story without crying. And you said, ‘Let me take care of the, uh, whatever it’s going to cost. I’ll take care of it, you’re valuable to me.’
That is who you are. It’s who I know you to be.”
Jon Voight has been a staunch and loyal supporter of Trump. Stories like this highlight the “patience, grace, even humility” Voight attributes to the former president.
The golf course employee is not the only cancer treatment President Trump helped finance.
After a young man named Shane Bouvet, who worked on Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, shared the story of his dad’s battle with cancer, Trump sent him a check in the mail.
His dad, Don Bouvet, could not afford the chemotherapy needed to treat his bladder cancer. A year later he was cancer-free.
Jon Voight, much to the horror of Hollywood, has been very vocal in his support of the former president. He posted two videos on Twitter in 2019 where he called Trump the “greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.”
He’s more recently called for prayers for Trump after the unprecedented FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. He said that the way Trump is being treated is abusive and barbaric. He believes that Trump will have redemption.
In the Newsmax special. He promises to show you Trump’s “beautiful side.”
