A lawsuit seeking to expose the collusion between the Biden administration and Big Tech has produced a new trove of documents that plaintiffs say reveals a “massive, sprawling” effort to censor dissent.
The lawsuit, filed by the conservative activist group Freedom Watch, alleges that the Biden administration is using tech companies to stifle free speech and conservative viewpoints. Among the new evidence produced by the lawsuit are documents that show the Biden administration seeking to remove a parody of Anthony Fauci, the president’s chief medical adviser, from social media platforms.
“The Biden Administration is using Big Tech to silence dissent and rig the game against Americans who disagree with its policies,” said Freedom Watch founder and chairman Larry Klayman. “These newly uncovered documents show the massive, sprawling censorship effort being undertaken by the Biden Administration and its allies in Big Tech.”
Other documents obtained by Freedom Watch show the Biden administration pressuring Facebook to censor content critical of the president’s immigration policies, as well as communications between White House officials and tech companies about how to respond to conservative outlets such as The Federalist and Breitbart News.
“The Biden Administration is colluding with Big Tech to censor Americans who don’t toe the progressive line,” said Klayman. “This is a grave threat to our democracy, and Freedom Watch will continue to fight to expose this collusion and hold the Biden Administration accountable.”
The lawsuit is currently pending before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. A hearing in the case is scheduled for June 3.
A new lawsuit against the Biden administration has revealed a “massive, sprawling federal ‘Censorship Enterprise'” related to COVID-19 and elections, the plaintiffs said in a 711-page “joint statement on discovery disputes.”
Republican attorneys general and a civil liberties group argue in their First Amendment lawsuit that Biden, Fauci, and other high-level officials unduly censored dissenting pandemic views, thereby violating Americans’ right to free speech.

New Civil Liberties Alliance lawyer Jenin Younes: “If there was ever any doubt the federal government was behind censorship of Americans who dared to dissent from official Covid messaging, that doubt has been erased.”
The lawsuit is ongoing, and it remains to be seen what other information will be revealed as the case proceeds. But the already-available documents provide a glimpse into the inner workings of the Biden administration’s approach to managing information about the pandemic.
The documents turned over by the defendants include emails, text messages, and other communications between Biden administration officials and employees of major tech companies like Facebook, Google, and Twitter.
The communications show that the officials were in close contact with the tech companies and that they discussed ways to censor dissenting views on the pandemic. For example, one email from Fauci to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg discusses “the need to get rid of” a particular Facebook group that was critical of the government’s response to the pandemic.
The documents also show that the officials were aware of and concerned about the potential for violence if the pandemic restrictions were lifted too soon. In one email, Fauci warned that lifting the restrictions could lead to “serious illness and death” and that there would be “a lot of anger” if people felt the restrictions were lifted prematurely.
The lawsuit is still in its early stages, and it’s not clear yet whether the plaintiffs will be able to prove that the officials violated Americans’ free speech rights.
But the documents that have been revealed so far suggest that the officials were working closely with the tech companies to censor dissenting views on the pandemic. If that is proven to be true, it could have a major impact on the case.
