“We ran against each other, which I didn’t like, on tickets for the highest office in the land. I was a candidate for vice president, he was the candidate for president. I never stopped admiring John. Never said a negative thing about him in my life, because I knew his honor, his courage, and his commitment.” Former Vice President Joe Biden said on Thursday when awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
It is during moments like these that make me wonder how stupid Politicians are. Haven’t they heard of the internet? They should have since tech giants have been lobbying on the Hill for years. Let’s not forget the secret meetings they had, telling the press to give better coverage—i.e., sensor the truth on how handicapped the Former Vice President is.
It still hasn’t occurred to them that we can rewind the tape. Or maybe they are so comfortable knowing that no one will call them out on it. Unfortunately, it is probably the latter.
First and foremost, John McCain wasn’t a beloved Republican. Not even in 2008. The Republicans have this nasty habit of “it’s his turn,” hence why we were stuck with Romeny in 2012. Hindsight is 20/20, but America dodged a few bullets there. Let’s hope Utah gets its act together when it comes to that spineless RINO.
The 2008 election was a nasty one, even during the primaries. It was the first time Social Media was really used. In comparison, Trump perfected Social Media usage during his campaign in 2016. Biden says he never said a bad word about McCain. We Republicans never forget.
“You can’t call yourself a maverick when all you’ve ever been is a sidekick,”
Fox News reported that Biden suggested McCain, a former Vietnam POW, and Navy pilot, was cowardly after asking during a New Mexico speech, “Who is the real Barack Obama?”
Biden’s responded;
“In my neighborhood where I came from if you got something to say to a man, look him in the eye and say it.”
“What a majority of American people are looking for — a steady hand, leadership, an optimist; not an angry man, lurching from one position to another,” Biden also said during the 2008 campaign.
When the man is right, he is right. The American people do want a steady hand and someone with strong leadership skills. The American people don’t want someone who has been lurching from one position to another. Especially not someone who has been in government for over 40 years.
