It is not rocket science to understand guns. First, you treat every gun like it’s loaded. No matter what. Second, never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot. It doesn’t matter what type of weapon it is either. Treat every gun the same way.

Firearms are dangerous. There is no disputing that. But the people using firearms are more dangerous, especially if they don’t know how to handle them. The anti-gun groups out there have no understanding of firearms. Yet, they preach about the need for gun control.

Alec Baldwin didn’t follow those rules on the set of the movie Rust back in October of 2021. The gun he was using was accidentally discharged, killing 42-year-old Hutchins. The director of photography died. Joel Souza, the director, was wounded.

The subsequent investigation by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office has indicated it was a tragic accident. There are rules to handling firearms on movie and television sets even though the weapons used are prop guns. The reports indicate there is confusion on whether or not the rules were followed

Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza told The Today Show, “I don’t think anybody’s off the hook when it comes to criminal charges. I’ve said this before: I think there was complacency on the set.” Law enforcement officers will tell anybody, complacency gets cops killed.

Baldwin, who is famously anti-gun, has blamed everyone else but himself. He claimed he did not pull the trigger. In December Baldwin, in an interview with George Stephanopoulos after the fatal shooting on the set of the film “Rust”, tearfully denied that he was the one who pulled the trigger.

A new FBI report tells a different story than what Baldwin has been saying all along. According to the report, if the prop gun was in the quarter cock or half-cock position, a full trigger pull is required to fire the gun.

The report says the movie weapon was in full cock position which means there is no way it could have fired without a trigger pull. With the hammer fully cocked, the gun “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger while the working internal components were intact and functional,” the report stated.

FBI forensic team would have performed testing on the actual gun or an exact version. They would have tested the internal mechanics of the weapon to ensure they were operating as designed. Then the team would have attempted to recreate the circumstances of the moment the fatal bullet was fired.

They would have placed the weapon in various cocked positions to determine if the gun could have fired without pressure on the trigger. They would have done this time and time again. It is unclear if the investigators used the same prop gun or another version but the report says it needed a pull.

It does not bode well for the embattled actor. It is possible the gun malfunctioned and did discharge accidentally. That can never be ruled out.

However, the testing suggests there was a trigger pull. If the same gun was tested that Baldwin was using when the shot was fired, he could be in for some legal trouble. Especially since it appears he has lied to investigators.

Recently, Baldwin’s wife came out in defense of her husband with a bizarre social media post. She blames other people for everything going on and makes her husband out to be the victim. It was an odd comment about the situation.

It is unclear whether or not criminal charges will ever be filed against Baldwin. What is clear is that the progressive elite of Hollywood needs to realize they are not better than everyone else and that their actions have real-life consequences. Everything they do is not just movie-making.
