Amid the ongoing standoff between the federal government and Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott maintained his firm stance on securing the southern border.

And he is not alone; not only did 25 states stand behind him, but even the Border Patrol Union acknowledged the efforts of the Texas government in alleviating the border crisis, led by Biden’s open border policy.

In a statement, the Border Patrol Union clarified, “Rank-and-file BP agents are not going to start arresting TX NG members for following their LAWFUL orders.”

The union further said that the information that they will begin apprehending officers of the Texas National Guard is nothing but “FAKE NEWS.”

Furthermore, the statement wrote, “Texas National Guard and the rank-and-file Border Patrol agents work together and respect each other’s jobs.”

Contrary to what the federal government claims, the “Rank-and-file BP agents appreciate and respect what TX has been doing to defend their state in the midst of this catastrophe that the Biden Admin has unleashed on America.”

Border Patrol agents emphasized that the Texas National Guard was merely following orders, “no matter how unpopular or distasteful amongst rank-and-file agents, must be followed.”

On the Daily Caller, National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd added, “Agents absolutely do not want to cut the razor wire, but we have an obligation to follow a legal order.”

Judd added, “We will continue to put as much pressure on the admin to fix the crisis as we can. That will not change.”

The council president emphasized that the union wants the Biden administration to secure the southern border through “public pressure.”

“Public pressure is the only pressure that works. We’re the ones who have been out in front of the issue since day one.”

During an interview with Ben Shapiro, Judd also slammed Biden for removing all the border policies imposed by Trump. Thus resulting in “a huge spike in illegal immigration.”

The BP union also clarified that there is “no fight between the rank-and-file BP agents and the TX NG, Gov. Abbott or Texas DPS.”

“It may make flashy headlines, but it simply isn’t true,” the union concluded.

Texas Governor Abbott cordoned off Shelby Park in Eagle Pass in early January to block illegal migrants entering the US by traversing the Rio Grande River.

Gov. Abbott emphasized that these razor wires are an “effective deterrent against the illegal border crossing.”

Jorge Ventura, a NewsNation correspondent, affirmed this as he posted footage of several migrants who crossed the river but failed to continue because of the concertina wires.

Ventura added that there were no indications that the Border Patrol was budging to remove the barrier.

Despite threats from the federal government, the Texas National Guard holds the line.

Since Biden opened the border, 11 million illegal migrants have crossed the border.

On December 2023, Customs and Border Protection reported the highest number of migrant encounters in a month, which totaled 302,034. The CBP also apprehended 19 people on the FBI terror list.
