Unlike the NBA, The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has been very forthcoming in its stance against China and its tyrannical communist government. The WTA announced that it is suspending events in China after a tennis player, Peng Shuai went missing in the communist country after making sexual assault allegations against a high-ranking Chinese government official.

After Shuai made the allegations on her social media, her post was taken down within 30 minutes by the Chinese government. After that event, she went missing for almost three weeks.

WTA executive Steve Simon said in a statement “I am announcing the immediate suspension of all WTA tournaments in China, including Hong Kong. — In good conscience, I don’t see how I can ask our athletes to compete there when Peng Shuai is not allowed to communicate freely and has seemingly been pressured to contradict her allegation of sexual assault.”

“Given the current state of affairs, I am also greatly concerned about the risks that all of our players and staff could face if we were to hold events in China in 2022.” He added.

Texas Republican Senator responded to this decision and praised WTA for its brave stance. In his Thursday interview with Clay Travis & Buck Sexton radio show, the Senator said:

“…And I’ll tell you something right now, The Women’s Tennis Association has bigger balls than the NBA. And I’d like to see courage be contagious and more people take a stand.”

The strong position taken by the WTA “is a stark contrast to the NBA,” Sen. Cruz added. The NBA and LeBron James have “wobbled on their knees” before China. The basketball cowards are merely trying not to anger China over their fear of losing money or have NBA broadcasts suspended in that communist dictatorship.

By this decision, the WTA will likely lose hundreds of millions of dollars. But they chose to speak up against the communist tyranny anyways.

The Italian Tennis Federation, The Tennis Australia, and Taiwan’s tennis association also announced their support for the WTA and expressed concerns for Peng Shuai and opposition to China.
