Former President Donald Trump denied still possessing classified documents about nuclear weapons after a Washington Post article suggested that was what the FBI agents were searching for in his home.

He compared the article to leaks during the 2016 election of the now-known fake Steele dossier.

Trump took to Truth Social and said, “Nuclear weapons issue is a Hoax, just like Russia, Russia, Russia was a Hoax, two Impeachments were a Hoax, the Mueller investigation was a Hoax, and much more.”

He also added, “Same sleazy people involved.”

“Why wouldn’t the FBI allow the inspection of areas at Mar-a-Lago with our lawyer’s [sic], or others present. Made them wait outside in the heat, wouldn’t let them get even close — said ‘ABSOLUTELY NOT.'”

Trump also suggested that information may have been leaked to the media in order to portray him in a negative light following the raid on his home.

He also suggested that information was planted.

“Planting information anyone? Reminds me of a Christofer [sic] Steele Dossier!” wrote Trump.

On Thursday evening, the Washington Post reported that the FBI descended on Mar-A-Lago and rifled through Trump’s private home for hours to find documents that potentially pertained to nuclear weapons.

Sources didn’t tell the Post “what type of information the agents were seeking.”

Also on Thursday, Attorney General Merrick Garland gave a short statement, where he confirmed that he had personally approved the search warrant of the Trump property and is currently working to unseal the warrant.

Fox News reported:

During the speech, which was less than five minutes and contained no opportunity for press questions, Garland offered few details on why the raid occurred on former President Donald Trump’s Florida estate, though he mentioned that the search warrant and its contents would be unsealed at the behest of Trump.

The only major detail Garland did provide, however, was that he “personally approved” of the execution of the search warrant that occurred Monday evening. He also made a point to defend the FBI and the DOJ from critics who have been claiming that they have been turned into political weapons against their political enemies.

“I will not stand by silently while the [FBI’s] integrity is unfairly attacked… The men and women of the FBI and the DOJ are dedicated and patriotic public servants,” Garland asserted.

Many conservatives were frustrated that Garland didn’t give any real details or any opportunity to answer questions.

Former Georgia congressional candidate Vernon Jones tweeted, “Merrick Garland provided a nothing burger at his one way press conference. More questions now than ever and no more credibility with the DOJ & FBI.”

National Pulse editor-in-chief Raheem Kassam added, “We don’t need to embellish. We just heard the Attorney General of the United States personally state that he approved the raid on a political opponent. Unprecedented tyranny.”

Many speculate the raid was not just for classified documents, but to look for anything pertaining to the events on January 6 and to do anything to stop Trump from running again.
