In a move that is sure to send shockwaves across the country, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has introduced legislation that would ban the medical gender transition of minors nationwide.
The bill titled the “Protecting Children from Experimentation Act”, would make it a federal crime for any doctor or other medical professional to provide any form of “gender affirmative” care to a minor, including hormone therapy, surgery, or any other type of treatment.
The bill would also offer civil protections to any minor who has been subjected to such procedures without their consent, allowing them to sue for damages in federal court.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Online, Representative Greene said that she was motivated to introduce the legislation after seeing the “horrific” effects that medical gender transition can have on young people.
“This is child abuse, pure and simple,” said Greene. “These so-called ‘treatments’ are nothing less than experimental procedures that have no place being performed on children.”
Greene also slammed the medical community for “turning a blind eye” to the potential risks of medical gender transition, and called on them to “put the welfare of children above politics.”
“It is time for the medical profession to put the welfare of children above politics,” said Greene. “The American people have had enough of this dangerous experimentation, and it is time for Congress to act.”
The Protecting Children from Experimentation Act is sure to be met with fierce opposition from the Left, who have made support for medical gender transition a key part of their platform.
But Greene is undeterred and says she is confident that her bill will ultimately be successful.
“This is an issue that crosses party lines,” said Greene. “I have no doubt that we can get this bill passed, and I am committed to doing everything in my power to make sure that it does.”
The Protecting Young People Act would make it a federal crime for any doctor or health care professional to provide “gender affirmation surgery” or “hormone treatments” to anyone under the age of 18.
The bill would also allow minors who have already been harmed by medically transitioning to sue their doctors for damages.

Mary Miller (IL), Jeff Duncan (SC), Bob Good (VA), Matt Gaetz (FL), and Ralph Norman (SC) are co-sponsors of the bill, which is also supported by Anthony Gonzalez (TX).
Of those in the GOP who do not back the bill, or who acquiesce to the medical gender transition of minors, Greene says they are “worthless.”
In June, some GOP lawmakers broached the Protecting Minors from Medical Malpractice Act, so that minors could sue those doctors that harmed them through “gender affirmative care.”
“We must protect our children from these horrific medical procedures that amount to child abuse,” said Greene. “These so-called ‘treatments’ have destroyed the lives of countless young people, and it has to stop.
“This is not a partisan issue,” Greene continued. “This is about protecting innocent children from being manipulated and harmed by adults. If you are a parent, if you are a grandparent, if you care about children at all, you should be outraged that this is happening in America.”
