Arkansas junior Senator Tom Cotton is an outspoken member of Congress and staunch opponent of President Biden. In a recent appearance on America’s Newsroom, Senator Cotton called Biden “Pathetic” for his policies on American Energy and fossil fuels.
Biden and the Democrat’s expensive quest to end all fossil fuels and convert to a completely green energy grid has already cost American’s a great deal across the board. The impact is being felt across the globe from Denmark to Sri Lanka.
Inflation is at a forty-year high causing the cost of household goods to soar out of control. Gas prices, even though they have dropped slightly over the last two weeks, continue to hover around the four to five dollar mark.
The President and Democrats are fully aware of the ongoing energy crisis. The administration and the mainstream media constantly place blame on the war in Ukraine or as they call it, Putin’s War. Whatever the reason, Biden must now turn to other nations and ask for help. It is one of the reasons he met with Saudi Arabia this week. He needs their help with American energy.
President Biden campaigned in 2020 on the idea that Saudi Arabia was a “pariah.” He made the comments multiple times during his candidacy. The statement stemmed from Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s alleged role in the killing and dismemberment of Washington Post reporter Jamal Kashoggi.
The public comments damaged the once strong relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia. President Biden has gone crawling back to the Saudis because he needs them to open the pipelines on their oil production so oil and gas prices can fall here in the United States.
Many believe we don’t need to ask the Saudis, Venezuelans, or the Iranians for any help with our energy production. During President Trump’s time in office, the United States had achieved energy independence that was quickly wiped from the grid when Biden took office.
“Energy independence is not just a slogan, because the opposite of it is dependence,” Cotton went on to say. We’re seeing the effects of that dependence around the world now. Europe has been driven right into the waiting hands of President Putin and his oil supply.
Instead of using our oil supply here in this country, we had to turn to other nations for their reserves. Several months ago, we had to grovel to Caracas and Tehran, two not-so-friendly governments.
Our national security will be much weaker under a system where we rely on other nations for help with our energy grid. It will drive us into needless wars and conflict that will limit our ability to be America first across the globe.
In November, Americans will get a chance to decide in the mid-term elections which path they want to continue going down. If Republicans regain control of Congress, they will look to restore energy independence. If the Democrats maintain control, energy prices will continue to rise and the push to end fossil fuels will continue.
