Many Americans believe Donald Trump won the 2020 election and that Joe Biden is not the rightful President. There are numerous reasons why they believe this to be the case. There were voter irregularities, distrust in the national mainstream media, and a ravenous disdain for politicians.
People do not trust politicians. They do not like them. They think they are liars, thieves, and frauds. There is plenty of evidence to go around that supports this viewpoint. Local to national elected officials are constantly pandering to the media and get caught doing something they should not be.
A state auditor is a financial position within state governments. The job serves as a financial watchdog for expenditures of public funds. The role of an auditor is a constitutional office, which means the job must be filled at all times per state law.
What does the Auditor do? They make sure public funds are spent legally and are accomplishing what they are supposed to. The office makes sure the public which funds are spent and why. The office also works with every department to ensure proper financial expenditures.
In some states, the person gets elected. Others are appointed by the Governor. In Delaware, Joe Biden’s home state, the person is elected. Kathleen McGuiness was elected in 2018. She is currently running for re-election this November.
Getting re-elected is going to be very difficult for her. She was recently found guilty of three misdemeanors in conjunction with the official duties of her office. People in the state government are calling for her removal because of the guilty verdict.
McGuiness was found guilty of official misconduct, conflict of interest, and structuring a contract to avoid a procurement policy, according to theblaze.com. She denies any involvement in all the charges.
The contract issue stems from arranging payments to a public policy communications company that sidestepped Delaware’s procurement guidelines. The company was awarded the contract without placing a bid.
In most states, if a contract is available for businesses to bid on, there is usually a minimum bid. The bid is unknown to the companies. The state will accept the lowest bid. In this case, a previous acquaintance of McGuiness was awarded the contract.
In addition to the contract issue, the State Auditor was charged with misconduct by hiring her daughter in a position that fell directly under McGuiness’ supervision and allowed her a take-home car and a schedule not available to others within the state.
Democrats in the Delaware state house have asked the Governor to remove McGuiness from her position. He is declining to say he legally can’t remove her from office. The underlying belief is she won’t get re-elected and to just wait for the election in less than a few months.
Governor Carney says, “the Governor has no power to act until after the entry of a judgment of conviction by the Superior Court.” That means until Superior Court confirms the guilty verdict on record, he can’t remove her from office.
There appears to be some infighting within the Democrat Party in the State of Delaware. Perhaps the Democrats within the state are feeling the pressure the rest of the Democrat party is feeling nationwide. The mid-term elections are coming up and a red wave is expected.
Delaware is a Democrat stronghold. After all, Biden has been their Senator since the early seventies. There are no predicted changes during the upcoming elections but that doesn’t mean they aren’t feeling the heat.
It is Biden’s home state and he appears to spend every weekend at his home. After everything Joe has done or not done, they might be embarrassed to be in his home state.
