Bill Maher has been experiencing a long and well-chronicled disillusion with the Left. The Left, of course, has been his political home for his entire adult life. This disillusionment is occurring concurrently with a newfound empathy and agreement for the right-wing side of the political argument. Bill Maher has been a rebellious and outspoke critic of cancel culture and the lunacy that seems uniquely prevalent to what is, ostensibly, his political side.
It seems that he has no interest in stopping his rampage. He has now gone after the silliness and wokeness that has infected (or perhaps always did infect) Hollywood.
The frivolous, and inexplicably oft-discussed topic of James Bond is now in his cross-hairs. He recently went after the “woke-fueled” characterization of the famed agent, calling it “pathetic”. He appeared with non-entity Hannah Stocking on his new podcast, “Club Random”, Maher stated, “You’re the hot scientist. You’re like Dr. Christmas in the embassy in the James Bond movie.
This was back in the day when James Bond was allowed to like f*** hot chicks. You know, now they can really, p***ified him.
Maher went on to say that “It’s so pathetic. Bond literally takes his girlfriend and her daughter on his mission to save the world.”
The unlikely darling of the right continued: “He practically stops off at Target to buy tampons on the way to the underground lair.”
Mr. Maher sharpened the point, saying that “This is the woke world we live in. But back in that day, Dr. Christmas and Denise Richards was hotter than the sun, still is — but also a brilliant scientist.”
The long-time host of Real Time with Bill Maher further said that,“Which is just like, you looked at her and went, ‘That’s not really possible. But I’ll go with it, you know, a brilliant scientist.’”
These seem to be fairly temperate and inconsequential comments, but such sentiments no longer seem to exist in the hyper-offense-taking culture on offer, courtesy of Leftist ideologues.
Maher himself was previously quoted as saying that “The people who can’t take a joke now aren’t old ladies in the Bible Belt. They’re Gen Z at elite colleges,” Maher said.
“Kids used to go to college and lose their virginity. Now they go to lose their sense of humour.”
Stocking, for her part, seemed to want to stay silent on the matter, lest she falls into the black hole of the cancel culture. She seemed to be more than happy to yield the floor, which must be at least minimally admirable, given her status as a YouTube star.
Bill Maher, of course, is never one to be without an opinion, and is certainly not afraid to express it. Cancel culture be damned.
Watch the full Club Random episode here! Maher’s comments about Bond can be heard around the 11:30 mark of the video.
As previously mentioned, this is just the latest in a long line of right-leaning tirades launched by Bill Maher. He had previously gone after the narcissistic way that the transgender movement massages itself, particularly in the way those identifying as transgender has gone up exponentially.
