We have all heard of March Madness. It is one of the best times of year for college sports. However, it is unclear if everyone has heard of “March Sadness 2” which culminated at the end of March in central Florida. Polk County Sheriffs announced his agency had made several arrests in a human trafficking operation.
Polk County rests just south of Orlando and Disney World. Many employees of the House of Mouse reside in Polk County because it is slightly cheaper to live there than Orange County, where Orlando and Disney are.
According to NBC news.com, the operation led to the arrest of 108 people, including four Disney employees. The employees worked in various jobs including a lifeguard and a chef. The workers face charges for sex-related offenses and human trafficking charges.
According to Yournews.com, another investigation, Operation Child Predator II took place. It led to the arrests of more Disney employees and other people involved with harmful actions toward children and human trafficking-related crimes.
“What would an operation be — either a pornography investigation or predator operation or human trafficking operation — without a Disney employee? We always have a Disney employee”, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told WKMG TV while announcing that Walt Disney World is an active crime scene.
The Disney Corporation has had bad publicity over the last several months. Insider videos leaked for an “all hands” meeting. The video, reported by Chris Rufo, appears to show an LGBTQ agenda driven by Disney programming.
Disney executives then attacked Governor DeSantis and the Florida legislature for the “Don’t Say Gay” bill passed in the State of Florida. Disney suspended all political donations in the Sunshine State. As a result, Florida legislature revoked Disney World’s special tax status.
Ironically, the arrests made by law enforcement come within days of the fight between the State and the Disney Corporation. According to magicguides.com, there are 77,000 cast members throughout the Disney World resort, which makes it the biggest single-site employer in the United States.
It is not surprising to see a company that employs so many people having criminal issues with some. It is nearly impossible to weed out the bad apples. However, Disney does need to improve on their criminal background checks and improve on their post-hire review process.
Disney World sits in the middle of some counties in Florida who have tough acting Sheriffs in charge of the agencies there. The Sheriffs will ensure the laws are followed. If not, they will enforce the laws to their maximum ability. Sheriff Judd is one of those leaders.
Grady Judd is the controversial Sheriff of Polk County, Florida. He does not mince words with the media and he is very straightforward. In 2006, one of his Deputies was shot eight times and one of his K-9s was murdered.
According to Orlando Sentinel, his men chased the suspect and exchanged gunfire. The suspect was killed in the shootout. When reporters asked Judd why his men shot the suspect 68 times, he replied “That is all the bullets we had”.
He was pressed on the matter asking why the death certificate on the suspect read “natural causes?” Judd’s reply was simple. “If you get shot 68 times, you are naturally going to die.”
As Human Trafficking and Human Smuggling continue to increase throughout the United States, corporations like Disney will remain prime targets for both victims and their oppressors. They would be wise to become more vigilant on their hiring process or face visits from Sheriff Judd and his Deputies.
This extremely biased article stated that if Disney didn’t enforce hiring requirements that Grady Judd would visit them. Nothing could be more wrong. In no instance has the Polk County Sheriff gone to Disney to visit them. Their employees are looking for children to molest, rape and seduce. They are looking for children on the internet and start a conversation with who they think is a child, when it is a law enforcement officer. They are told where and when to meet up. It is THEY who visit Sheriff Judd and his deputies when they arrive expecting a child and get arrested. They run these stings all the time, it’s been on TV, all the media. You might want to get your facts straight before you write your swill.
