Republican Senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, has decided to launch an official Senate investigation into Big Tech and their collaboration with the Biden administration to limit freedom of speech.
Cruz stated on ‘Hannity’:
“Today as Ranking Member of the Senate Commerce Committee I opened an investigation into Big Tech’s censorship. We are going to see accountability, transparency, and we’re going to shine a light on Big Tech’s efforts to silence conservatives.”
The Republican Senator added:
“Elon Musk’s buying Twitter is a game changer because he’s done something that the Big Tech oligarchs never thought would happen, which is he’s gone open kimono.”
He continued:
“And now, we have the evidence, we have the emails, and it’s clear when Democrats said to move, Big Tech said, ‘How high?’ They jump on command.”
Cruz also made the announcement regarding the investigation on his Twitter account.
He wrote the same words he used on his Tweet:
“Today as Ranking Member of the Senate Commerce Committee I opened an investigation into Big Tech’s censorship. We are going to see accountability, transparency, and we’re going to shine a light on Big Tech’s efforts to silence conservatives.”
The GOP lawmakers in Congress are also demanding investigation into DirecTV and its parent company, AT&T as they have stopped broadcasting OANN and Newsmax.
The CEO of Newsmax, Chris Ruddy, stated:
“This was never about the fees being excessive. DirecTV’s position has always been that Newsmax of all cable news channels should never get any cable fee whatsoever, not one penny.”
Since the cancellation of Newsmax on DirecTV, AT&T has lost nearly $10 Billion in valuation.
