According to a new poll by Quinnipiac University, former U.S. President Donald Trump is leading while Florida’s GOP Governor Ron DeSantis is right behind him in the GOP primary matchup.

Moreover, the poll revealed that President Joe Biden’s popularity and approval ratings are shrinking among voters across the U.S.

Among the GOP correspondents, 42% stated that they were supporting Trump, however, 36% stated that they were supporting DeSantis.

The GOP Governor has still not announced any plans to run for the presidential race.

The former Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, who recently initiated her presidential campaign, only received 5% support.

The former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the former Vice President Mike Pence, both received just 4% support.

Nikki Haley and Donald Trump are the only ones who have officially initiated their presidential campaigns.

President Joe Biden’s chances of winning again are getting slimmer. According to the poll, in a hypothetical matchup, Trump received 48% support with 46% supporting Biden.

In a similar hypothetical matchup against DeSantis, Biden received 46% support and DeSantis received 47% support.

Joe Biden’s approval numbers are sharply sinking among registered voters. 55% of respondents disapproved of Biden’s performance as president, while only 40% said they approve of his performance, the poll revealed.

Moreover, many Americans are also not happy with Biden’s policies, such as the economy (35% to 59%), foreign policy (36% to 55%), and immigration (27% to 62%).

The poll also revealed that 42% to 49% were also dissatisfied with Biden’s handling of the situation regarding the Chinese spy balloon.
