On Wednesday, President Biden was again in the headlines for wrong reasons as several individuals criticized him for making fun of Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, during a discussion about a mother whose two sons lost their lives because of fentanyl overdose.
During a hearing related to the growing border crisis, the GOP Rep. from Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene, accused the Biden administration of being incompetent when it comes to controlling the surge of illegal drugs in the U.S.
She cited Rebecca Kiessling’s case who lost both of her sons to fentanyl poisoning in July 2020.
During Tuesday’s House hearing, Greene stated:
“This government has failed you, and it’s failing American families, and it’s failing, most of all, it’s failing our children and our young people.”
Later on, Greene shared a video of Rebecca Kiessling’s testimony on her Twitter and wrote:
“Listen to this mother, who lost two children to fentanyl poisoning, tell the truth about both of her son’s murders because of the Biden administrations refusal to secure our border and stop the Cartel’s from murdering Americans everyday by Chinese fentanyl.”
As Biden was talking about Kiessling’s loss and Greene’s remarks, he chuckled and laughed.
He stated:
“Isn’t [Marjorie Taylor Greene] amazing? Oof.”
He added:
“I should digress, probably, I’ve read, she, she was very specific recently, saying that a mom, a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl, that, that I killed her sons. Well, the interesting thing is that fentanyl they took came during the last administration,” Biden said while chuckling.
After the ordeal, Biden received massive criticism for taking the situation so lightly and chuckling at someone’s loss to procure political points against the Georgian Rep.
Republican Rep. Jim Banks from Indiana labeled Biden’s action as:
“Shameful and embarrassing.”
Christina Pushaw, Gov. Ron DeSantis’ communications chief commented that Biden is:
“An evil man.”
