On Thursday morning, the GOP Rep. from Florida, Byron Donalds, revealed that he is endorsing the former U.S. President Donald Trump in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.
Before Donalds, Republican Reps. from Florida, Anna Paulina Luna and Matt Gaetz, have also announced their endorsement for Trump.
Donalds disclosed in a statement:
“There is only one leader at this time in our nation’s history who can seize the moment and deliver what we need — to get us back on track, provide strength and resolve, and Make America Great Again.”
He added:
“That is why I’m honored to endorse President Donald J. Trump for President in 2024, and I ask my fellow Americans to join me,” the Florida Republican said Thursday in a statement.
Donalds has become the third Republican Representative from the state of Florida to endorse Donald Trump for the 2024 race to the White House.
Despite an official statement, rumors have been circulating that the GOP Gov. from Florida, Ron DeSantis, will also be taking part in the 2024 presidential race.
The Sunshine State’s Governor is yet to officially declare his nomination, however, he is still being considered the strongest rival to Trump as per recent polls.
Moreover, despite DeSantis’ official declaration, GOP Rep. from Kentucky, Thomas Massie, along with the GOP Rep. from Texas, Chip Roy, have already announced that they are supporting DeSantis.
As Donald Trump gains a significant endorsement from Byron Donalds, many GOP lawmakers from Florida have still not revealed who they will be supporting.
Time will unveil more endorsements, however, the political climate indicates that both of the GOP leaders from Florida are in a neck-to-neck competition.
