On Tuesday, Republican Kansas Senator Roger Marshall questioned Dr. Fauci on a variety of issues, including Fauci’s financial investments and disclosures. This lead to a fiery exchange between the Senator and Dr. Fauci. During that time, Fauci was caught on hot mic referring to the Senator as a “moron”
Fauci is the highest-paid federal government employee out there. With his director post at The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which he has held since 1984, and his new advisory role to The President Of The United States, his annual salary is $434,312. Which is more than President Biden. Fauci’s wife, Christine Grady on the other hand is paid $176,000 per year for her role as the Chief of The Department Of Bioethics at the National Institute of Health (NIH). Public financial records show that the couple has a combined net worth of around $10 million.
Fauci and his wife have made millions outside their government job, by attending events like the “RFK Rille Of Hope” Virtual award ceremony, where he was paid $5000 just to attend the event. He has made much more from attending other similar events.
In 2020, he was awarded the Federal Employee Of The Year Award and reimbursed $5,198 from that award along with his “Service to America” medal.
During his argument with Senator Marshall, Fauci had a serious meltdown when the Kansas Senator asked him about his financial disclosers.
“Would you be willing to submit to Congress and the public a financial disclosure that includes your past and current investments?” Sen. Marshall asked Fauci.
“My financial disclosure is public knowledge and has been so for the last 37 years or so,” Fauci responded “you are so misinformed, it’s extraordinary,” he added.
“We cannot find them. Our office cannot find them. Where would they be if they are public knowledge?” The Senator asked.
“It is totally accessible to you if you want it,” Fauci responded.
“For the public? Is it accessible to the public?” the senator followed up.
“To the public, to the public!” Fauci responded rudely.
“Great, we look forward to reviewing it,” Sen. Marshall said.
After this conversation, Fauci was caught on a hot mic saying “What a moron! Jesus Christ!”
This exchange went viral on Twitter and was trending on the liberal platform and many were wondering why Fauci got so worked up when asked to disclose his financial investments.
