KENOSHA, Wisconsin. On Thursday, the defense in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial has rested its case with closing arguments ahead on Monday.

After the closing arguments on Monday, the jury will deliberate to decide the final fate of this case if Kyle Rittenhouse acted in self-defense or was it otherwise.

The prosecution’s testimony, in this case, lasted for a total of five days and many of these prosecution witnesses have made it abundantly clear that Rittenhouse fired only after being threatened.

The defense called its witnesses for only 2.5 days in this nine-day-long trial. And it seems like a clear self-defense scenario after hearing witnesses from both sides.

After the closing arguments on Monday, “names will be drawn to decide which 12 members of the jury panel will deliberate and which ones will be dismissed as alternates,” as reported by the Associated Press.

A brief context of this case, Kyle Rittenhouse went to defend his community in Kenosha, Wisconsin during the BLM and Antifa riots over the Jacob Blake shooting on August 25, 2020. Rittenhouse was 17 when this incident happened. He was aiding local businesses and cleaning up the mess left by the “peaceful” protesters as the mainstream media likes to call them.

On August 25, 2020, then-17-year-old Rittenhouse traveled up from Antioch, Illinois, to Kenosha, Wisconsin, during the riots over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, hoping to aid a local business owner in defending his car dealership that had suffered $1.5 million in damages.

He was armed that night because of the “peaceful” nature of these protests. When the BLM protestors attempted to torch a parking lot filled with vehicles, Rittenhouse and his associates intervened and tried to extinguish the fire started by the “peaceful protestors” and were attacked by the protestors.

Three of these protestors chased Rittenhouse and tried to attack him and ended up getting shot at. Two of these attackers ended up dead and one was fatally wounded. One of these attackers was a registered sex offender and had served 12 years in prison for two counts of sexual conduct with a minor. The same person has a long criminal record including- assault with a weapon, possession of drugs and narcotics, assault, and arson.

One of the prosecution’s witnesses and several defense witnesses have testified that Rittenhouse fired his gun only after being pursued and attacked. The prosecution witness and the third person who survived Rittenhouse’s shots also admitted that he got shot at only after he had pointed a gun at the Rittenhouse.
