It was disclosed on Monday, that Tucker Carlson, the renowned host from Fox News, has obtained access to more than 40,000 hours of January 6th video footage.
Access to the footage was provided by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
According to a report by Axios, last week the producers from Carlson’s show were on Capitol Hill to commence the investigation concerning the footage.
Carlson has been demanding McCarthy the public release of the footage for quite some time so that Americans can see what happened on January 6th, 2021.
Carlson told Axios:
“[T]here was never any legitimate reason for this footage to remain secret.”
He added:
“If there was ever a question that’s in the public’s interest to know, it’s what actually happened on January 6. By definition, this video will reveal it. It’s impossible for me to understand why any honest person would be bothered by that.”
According to a previous report by DC Enquirer, last month McCarthy confirmed that the footage will be released.
He stated:
“I think the public should see what happened on that day.”
He added:
“I watched what Nancy Pelosi did, where she politicized it. Where for the first time in the history as a Speaker, not allowing the minority to appoint to a committee. We watched the politicization of this. I think the American public should actually see what happened instead of a report that’s written on a political basis. I want to be very thoughtful about it, but yes, I’m engaged to do that.”
