Since November 3rd, a day which was supposed to be election day for the 2020 US general election, but ultimately turned into election week, questions regarding the integrity of the election throughout our country have been a major issue for Republican lawmakers and their supporters.
This has been no secret, former President Donald Trump has continued to push GOP lawmakers in swing states such as Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin to investigate voter fraud from the 2020 election, along with passing new voter laws that will strengthen voter integrity; laws of which would include Voter ID and signature verification.
Republican state legislatures of states like Arizona have been well known for trying to improve their election integrity with new voting laws and investigations, however, Spokane County in the state of Washington has just requested an audit and investigation into the 2020 US presidential election.
According to a report from Just The News, the request for this audit was a result of a petition presented to the Spokane County commissioners from Spokane County GOP State Committeeman Matt Hawkins.
Hawkins stated, “We’re not trying to say any one person has done anything wrong. We’re not trying to say that any fraud has been committed. We are trying to say we want to restore confidence in the election system.”
According to one prominent Twitter account, @DJTTracker, which is dedicated to sharing updates on the 2020 election, they shared a tweet stating “BREAKING: Michigan GOP lawmakers in Spokane County, Washington are requesting an investigation regarding election fraud in the 2020 election, a separate case in Pennsylvania has already been assigned to a judge and ready to move forward.”
