The word, and indeed, concept of comedy is becoming extremely broad. More and more comedians are pandering for “clapter”, rather then taking the extremely controversial step of actually telling a joke. There is also, of course, the accompanying fear of the woke brigade manufacturing offense and then off a comedian goes into the howling wilderness of the canceled. However, there is some good news on offer for those that actually want to laugh at a joke. In fact, this particular event happens at the expense of the poisonously unfunny Samantha Bee.
Something eventually has to give and it just did. Samantha Bee, who previously called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c***”, has just had her show “Full Frontal” canceled on TBS after 7 years. Warner Bros. Discovery, was just purchased by a company that is owned by a billionaire Trump donor. That can’t have a happy ending. So, four years after Bee made the incendiary comments, they seem to now be coming back to her.
“As we continue to shape our new programming strategy, we’ve made some difficult, business-based decisions,” TBS said in a statement.
“We are proud to have been the home to ‘Full Frontal With Samantha Bee’ and thank Sam, and the rest of the Emmy-nominated team for their groundbreaking work. We celebrate this extraordinarily talented cast and crew and look forward to exploring new opportunities to work with them in the future.”
Samantha Bee tweeted out that After 7 seasons, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee will not be returning to TBS this fall. We’re so thankful for our loyal audience, our amazing team, and that we got to annoy the right people every week—that there wasn’t wrestling or baseball or a very special episode of Big Bang.

“The end of “Full Frontal” comes as Warner Bros. Discovery has been cutting back on its content spend for big cable networks like TBS and TNT.”
“To be sure, the outlets continue to feature movies and have added more nights of sports, thanks to a recent rights deal struck between Warner Bros. Discovery and the NHL.”
“But TBS has been cutting back on scripted series, with shows such as “Chad” and “The Last O.G.” scrapped in recent weeks.”
“Brett Weitz, general manager of TBS, TNT and TruTV, left the company in May after the cable networks were consolidated under the aegis of Warner Bros. Discovery executive Kathleen Finch. Weitz had been a strong backer of “Full Frontal.”
Following the Ivanka comment, Donald Trump tweeted “Why aren’t they firing no talent Samantha Bee for the horrible language used on her low ratings show?”. Well, granted, it’s taken longer than Mr. Trump would have like, but he did get his wish. It seems that people are getting sick of being lectured to by comedians. They cant really be blamed. People tuned in to late night shows to laugh and escape. Not to be preached to. Hopefully, there will be a sudden and marked shift in the zeitgeist.
