Catholic Louisianna Man Faces ‘Economic Backlash’ for ‘Criticizing Pride Month’ in a Social Media Post

You don’t dare go against the new religion of the Left. Criticizing Pride Month is the greatest of all sins in America today, and a Louisianna father of five is learning that the hard way.

Though, if you ask Ross McKnight, he doesn’t see it that way. He has not expressed any regret, and if standing up for his religious beliefs causes him to lose customers, he considers it an honor.

“We count it a privilege to have lost much,” the Backwater Foie Gras owner wrote in a subsequent Twitter post.

“It is an honor to participate, through the suffering of our family, in the triumph of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”

Backwater Foie Gras is a small farm located north of New Orleans. The family farm produces artisanal foie gras and specialty poultry.

On June 3, McKnight had the audacity to voice his opinion about the push to inject “pride month” into every facet of our society.

His post read:

“The push to have every mainstream value and holiday represented in some way in our Louisiana ought to make no sense at all to any Louisianais or Louisianaise, unless recognized as a forward offensive by an ever-encroaching enemy that has sought for generations to destroy our unique culture which is so intimately tied to our Catholic identity.”

The attempted coup of the month of June is part of that offensive, but I can suggest some antidotes to a false pride.

McKnight’s antidotes included praying the Rosary to convert souls and wearing “the Sacred Heart as a badge wherever you go.”

The LGBT+ community and its fervent supporters don’t understand that they don’t need to shove their sexuality down our throats. Acceptance was achieved a long time ago. Now they are pushing people the other way.

Following his Instagram post, McKnight’s family business faced some backlash. He shared the consequences in a follow-up post.

“Recently, we received two texts from two restaurant owners who have decided that they’ve had enough of our Catholicism based on our latest Instagram feed post and have canceled their large, recurring orders,” McKnight wrote.

“While we’ve never required our customers to pass a litmus test before serving them, it seems our values, which come from lives lived as Louisiana Catholics, are considered unacceptable by some,” the caption continued.

“We have already seen Divine Providence working through all of this, and we have already seen that business we lost by rejecting pride beginning to be restored – in no small part by fellow Catholics who have reached out to support us and to share in the great victory that it is to suffer for and with Christ the King.”

A family friend and supporter, Harrison Weinhold, spoke to The Federalist and said the family lost upwards of $10,000 in monthly revenue due to the cancelations.

Weinhold took to Twitter to say that the canceled orders came from Louisianna transplants and said they are the type of people who come in and “ruin the culture of a once great community and are the type of virtue signaling leftists that are more than happy to persecute and ruin the lives of a native son and his family in the name of celebrating pride.”

Not sure what Weinhold does for a living, but he’ll be the next Louisianna man facing backlash for speaking the truth.
