That’s the thing about these terrorists: they do not care about you or the life you’ve had; all they are concerned about is senseless killings and useless ideologies.
When Thomas Crooks fired upon Donald Trump and at the crowd during his rally at Butler, Pennsylvania, Corey Comperatore, a retired volunteer fire chief, used his body to protect his wife and daughter.
Corey sustained fatal injuries, which led to his immediate death on July 13.

One of his daughters, Allyson, recalled how his father threw her down and shielded her against the raining bullets.
“I was the one that my dad threw down. As he was throwing me down, that was when he was shot, and he ended up falling onto me,” she said.
“And I don’t remember hearing any other shots … At that moment, I was trying to take care of him. I was really confused when he was on me.”
“I had turned around, I went, ‘Dad’ — he fell down, and that’s when I started screaming, and I was trying to keep him from bleeding,” she continued.
His other daughter, Kaylee, remembered that she was screaming, thinking she was in a dream seeing his father lifeless.
“And then you realize it’s not a dream, and you feel like your whole world is just over,” she said.
Comperatore was a member of the US Army Reserve and has served the military for a decade.
His wife, Helen, wants Corey to be remembered for who he was, not just “the man that was shot at the rally.”
“He definitely was a hero. He saved his wife. He saved his child and he was the best guy,” Helen remarked.
“Just remember Corey as he was — a great man who was a great father, great husband.”
Helen also remembered how her husband loved going fishing every weekend, ‘rain or shine’ and he loved his family.
Kaylee did not mince her words as she strongly criticized the security failures during the rally.
“I just want [security] to know I really think my dad’s blood is on their hands,” Comperatore’s daughter reflected.
“And I hope they wake up every day thinking about what they took from our family, because we have to wake up every day and see that image of our father in our head, and no child should ever have to see that.”
Former president Donald Trump honored the fallen firefighter during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, with Comperatore’s firefighter suit and helmet set up on the stage.
For Helen, Trump’s tribute during the convention “was a big honor.”
Corey’s wife shared how Corey was a staunch Trump supporter.
“All day at the rally, my husband kept saying, ‘He’s gonna call me up on stage. You’re gonna hear him. He’s gonna say, Corey, get on up here!’ He was just joking, obviously,” she quipped.

Your husband was a great man and a hero! The blood of his death is on the hands of the Secret Service! They failed him, your family, President Trump and his family and they failed anyone that was at that rally or watching it. I am so sorry your family has suffered this loss. I too have suffered a personal loss at the hands of a crazy person with a gun. You never get over it. It just becomes a little easier to live with every day. My prayers & my heart are with you and your daughters!
I lost my mother to a bad person with a gun. This world is so full of evil. I pray that God provides you with peace and comfort in this difficult time.
Nobody knows how they will react when somebody does something like that.
May God protect you and your family and our USA. So sorry for your loss. These bad things should not be happening. All evil people want is money and power so sad this is what this world has come too. People need God back in their lives. They need to be kind and gentle to others putting God first in their lives. My heart goes out to you and you family. To loose a loved one is really hard. God Bless.
We all are praying for your comfort and healing I hope and pray for justice This was such an evil act of hatred towards President Trump and I hope the SS answers your justice and takes responsibility for such a tragic loss . Nothing or no amount of money could ever replace him I’m a 32 year widow and that pain has never went away it lightened some but it never will release you Trust and in God and have faith in him is how I was able to face life again without my husband God Bless you and your family Fight Fight Fight
