Country music star John Rich sends some love to members of fraternities at the University of North Carolina who defended the American flag as pro-Hamas demonstrators attempted to remove it on Tuesday.
Rich offered the boys a free concert and tagged renowned podcaster/commentator Dan Bongino, urging him to do a live broadcast from their frat house.
“For the boys who protected the American flag at UNC, I’d like to offer a free concert for their celebration of freedom party (anybody know how to find these young men?),” the country singer said.
“Maybe we could talk @dbongino into doing a live broadcast from their frat house? C’mon Dan, live a little,” Rich added.
Influencer Catturd also commented and said, “I’m in.”
Members of the university’s Pi Kappa Phi, Alpha Epsilon Pi, and other fraternities showed pro-Hamas demonstrators as they trended on social media holding the US flag.
A video clip also shows members flanking and surrounding the flagpole as masked Hamas supporters throw water and curse them.
With their act, members of these fraternities heaped praise and admiration.
Some supporters organized a GoFundMe campaign to give them a “rager,” with donors sending them tens of thousands of dollars acknowledging their efforts.
The organizers were overwhelmed with the support as they closed the funding.
They said, “What started as a modest request to buy a few kegs for some great young guys has ballooned into an American cultural moment, with millions of people paying attention: blue and red, left and right, all of the above.”
The group raised around $500,000, with billionaire investor Bill Ackman sending in $10,000.
Even President Trump acknowledged their act of patriotism and posted a campaign ad, stating: “While campuses struggle to get control of their students, at UNC-Chapel Hill, they are bringing order back.”
The ad further remarked that the students “stood strong” despite being “pelted with bottles and rocks” and called the UNC fraternity brothers the “most popular college students.”
Rep. Mike Collins (R-Georgia) also contributed $125 to their call for donations and added that he would be sending an “aid package” for the boys.
“God bless the brothers, and God bless America,” the representative said.
“May their Solo cups overfloweth.”
“Those guys are great. There’s hope for America in the contrast between people who hate this country, who believe in really racist ideology, and then you’ve got these college kids that are standing there protecting the flag. Kudos to those guys,” remarked Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Missouri).
Meanwhile, Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas) praised the fraternity brothers and sent them a letter.
“In this environment, it isn’t easy to stand up to spineless administrators, cowardly faculty, and naive students who are blinded by vitriol,” Falon wrote.
“You made our country proud. Clearly, your parents raised you right.”
