In response to questions by reporters, President Joe Biden asked reporters whether or not Republicans think Democrats are “sucking the blood out of kids.”
When asked by a reporter named Shelby Talcott if “there are people in the Democratic Party who want to defund the police,” President Biden immediately responded by asking if “there are people in the Republican Party who think we’re sucking the blood out of kids.”
President Biden has in the past, and also as recently as Wednesday night, declared that “he is the Democratic Party.” He also said in CNN’s Town Hall with Don Lemon that it is not the position of the Democratic Party to defund the police.
These comments come after Press Secretary Jen Psaki and some in the media claimed that it was the Republican Party’s position to defund the police, just one summer after riots against police encouraged, and sometimes attended by, Democratic leaders and politicians.
