After Joe Biden offered no solutions at the southern border, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has had enough and is speeding up migrant busing to New York City.
Abbott: “This is not a Texas problem; this is an American problem caused by the president. We need more Americans to call on the president to uphold his oath of office and enforce the immigration laws of the United States.
Biden has failed to deliver on his promise to fix the root causes of migration from Central America and has instead let the crisis at the southern border spiral out of control. The Biden administration is now scrambling to deal with the influx of migrants, many of whom are unaccompanied minors.
Abbott has had enough of Biden’s inaction and is taking matters into his own hands. He has directed the Texas Department of Public Safety to begin busing migrants to sanctuary cities in New York, California, and other states that have welcomed them with open arms.
This is a bold move by Abbott, but it’s necessary to send a message to Biden that he needs to start taking the border crisis seriously. The migrants who are being bused to New York City will be dropped off at churches, community centers, and other locations that have agreed to take them in.
Gov. Abbott: “The only reason we have all these people coming across the border is because of President Biden’s open border policies. It was just two years ago we had record low numbers of people coming across the border illegally under President Trump because of the four policies he put in place that President Biden eliminated when he became president.
“Mayor Adams likes to sloganeer that ‘This is America’ and we need to start acting like it.
“We are a nation of laws. It’s time to start enforcing them. Doing that would restore the ‘humanity’ he is clamoring for.”
The city of New York has already been overwhelmed by the influx of migrants and has been struggling to provide them with necessities like food and shelter. This latest development is sure to put even more strain on the city’s resources.
Mayor Eric Adams has welcomed the migrants to New York City, but it’s clear that he is in over his head. He has asked for federal assistance to deal with the situation, but so far Biden has not delivered.
This move comes as a direct result of President Biden eliminating the four policies that were put in place by President Trump that had effectively reduced the number of people coming across the border illegally.
Governor Abbott is sending a clear message to President Biden that the people of Texas will not stand for his open border policies. It remains unclear if other border states will follow suit with the Texas border and migrant policy.
It remains to be seen how New York City will respond to this latest development, but one thing is for sure, the pressure is mounting on President Biden to do something about the crisis at the border.
