Imagine being the Vice-President of the United States of America and the President suddenly dies or resigns. The transition into the position of the most powerful person in the world should be seamless and easy. Unfortunately, that has not been the case since it happened.
Harry S. Truman’s first few momenta as President after Roosevelt died were Earth-shattering. The new President was informed about a project that would shake the world to the core. The Manhattan Project, which he had no idea existed even though he was President of the United States.
Traditionally, besides the ability to break a tie in the Senate, the Vice President does things the President does not want to do. They will travel to other countries as a Representative of America in place of the President. They will lead commissions or government efforts on a specific issue or problem.
Only five Vice-Presidents have gone on to be elected President. Is it because the position is a high-powered assistant who has no power? Is it because the President selects someone who is going to fall in line and do everything the President does not want to do?
President Biden and the Democrat Party like to practice identity politics. The idea is political attitudes or positions that focus on the concerns of social groups identified mainly based on gender, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
It is a philosophy of the Democrats because they believe it will secure the votes of a particular group or block. In Kamala Harris’ case, they thought it would secure African-American votes and women’s votes. However, even before the swearing-in, the rift between Biden and Harris was growing.
It started with a Vogue cover in which Harris was shown in jeans and sneakers because it would make her relatable. Harris was furious because she wanted to look formidable, not relatable. She complained to Biden’s team but the Administration told her to grow up.
There are a lot of issues going on in the country and around the globe. Yet, the people of America have a Vice-President concerned with how she looks on the cover of a fashion magazine. Little did anyone know, at the time, that it was a sign of things to come with Harris for the next two years.
The time since the two took the oath has been marred with botched foreign policy, inflation through the roof, a green energy push that will bankrupt the nation, and speeches and interviews with incoherent gibberish and cackling.
There are a lot of Washington insiders who think Harris is the worst Vice-President since Dan Quayle and maybe the worst ever. Biden assigned her to be the Border Czar, but she has done nearly nothing about the open border. It has allowed millions of illegal immigrants to flood into the country.
There is a growing push to replace Harris on the 2024 ticket. Looking at Joe Biden, it is hard to imagine he will run again in two years. He can’t remember names, is given a cue card to do even the simplest things and looks more like a patient from a memory care unit than he does President.
Biden’s ratings are at an all-time low for a President. Yet, Vice-President Harris’ ratings are even lower. Somehow, Kamala Harris is liked less than Joe Biden. In a scathing piece published by Newsweek, Darragh Roche wrote that “Harris is suffering stubbornly low approval ratings.
Politics professor Robert Singh told Newsweek that several Democrats have been “vindicated” for not supporting Harris’s 2020 campaign, adding that she wasn’t ready to be president then and she doesn’t appear to be ready now.
If Biden is propped up for a sequel to Weekend in Washington, who will be his running mate in 2024? Since the Democrats look to pander to voting blocks, would it be Elizabeth Warren? She is almost a carbon copy of Harris. Michelle Obama perhaps and then Biden resigns?
Maybe Biden doesn’t run. At this point, being held captive in his basement again can’t be appealing to the American people. That game is over. So, who will it be? The nation will have to wait and see but this is one thing that is almost certain at this point. Kamala Harris will not be on the ticket.
