On Friday, Donald Trump Jr. tweeted what everyone knew to be a joke.
Or at least one would think that everyone knew it was said in jest.
However, one Twitter account, which has more than 328,000 followers, retweeted Trump and even created a trending hashtag, #VaxToVote.
The account, which is associated with the website Really America, claims to be a “Democratic Super PAC focused on delivering high impact, persuasive political messaging.” They even added that detail as a response to their retweet of Trump’s sarcastic post.
And yes, they did ask people to retweet their calls for only vaccinated Americans having the right to vote.
“We’re a Democratic Super PAC focused on delivering the highest impact political ads and messaging on digital media. Can you retweet this and follow our account to help us combat the right wing disinformation machine?”
A quick perusal of their site shows that they are of the ideology that all Republicans are corrupt and in need of prosecution.
The son of the former President responded to the “self-owned” retweet, saying, “After years of crying about voter ID as a supposedly ‘racist’ restriction on voting rights, the left is now un-ironically calling for vax cards to be required to vote…You know, an ACTUAL restriction on voting rights. I make a joke about an obviously crazy idea to highlight the hypocrisy of the left, but these authoritarian libs are so unhinged and braindead, that they of course think #VaxToVote is a good idea. You can’t make this shit up!”
