As per a statement by the White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, on Sunday, President Joe Biden is planning to compete in the 2024 presidential election.
MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart, during his show “The Sunday Show” asked Jean-Pierre if President Biden and his Vice Kamala Harris are going to run for the 2024 reelection, to which Jean-Pierre replied that she is bound to disclose any political information under the HATCH act, though, “what I can say is repeat what the president has said many times is that he intends to run. And I leave it there.”
At the beginning of the interview, Jean-Pierre was also questioned regarding an “unidentified object” that was destroyed in Canadian airspace by a U.S. fighter jet.
Jean-Pierre stated:
“Out of an abundance of caution, and by the recommendation by the militaries for President Biden and Prime Minister [Justin] Trudeau, an unauthorized unmanned object,” was taken down “in airways in the North American airspace.”
When she was questioned regarding the FBI search operation at Mike Pence’s Indiana home last week, Jean-Pierre refused to comment.
Moreover, she insisted that the Biden administration stands for an “independent” DOJ.
Press Secretary stated:
“When it comes to the Department of Justice, they are independent.”
She added:
“We are very different than the last administration. We want to make sure that their independence is brought back to the Department of Justice. So we just don’t comment on any investigation that is currently happening.”
However, Pence is also considering the 2024 presidential run, but till now, only former President Donald Trump has officially declared his plan for the 2024 reelection.
