Florida representative Republican Byron Donalds outdid himself in the news yesterday.
He started the day outlining the shady business dealings of the Biden family, taunting the media to act. He said, “I’m giving you Pulitzer stuff here.”
He later went into the lion’s den at CNN following the live town hall the network aired with the former president and leading GOP candidate for the 2024 presidential election Donald Trump.
Donalds sat down with CNN commentators and hosts Anderson Cooper, Van Jones, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, and a war of words ensued.
“Town halls are for the voters, not for the press or the person who is the moderator,” Donalds said.
“Kaitlan spent more time interjecting her own viewpoints or her own views on the situation,” Donalds said referring to the CNN moderator Kaitlan Collins before Cooper interrupted him.
“Those are actually facts, though,” the CNN host told Donalds.
“Hold on,” Donalds clapped back. “Are you guys now going to interject your views on me, or do I get a chance to speak?” Donalds said while you can hear Cooper still trying to talk over him.
“If you’re speaking falsely, those are facts,” Cooper told Donalds in his smug CNN way.
“This is what’s frustrating to a lot of people. You want me to state it the way you want me to state it,” Donalds said.
“You do acknowledge Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, correct?” Farah Griffin, who worked in the Trump White House, asked.
“Hold on… let me tell you why most voters are frankly kind of tired of y’all bringing this up,” Donalds replied.
“Everything that was just talked about is not on the minds of independent voters in America.
“They are focused on the things that are affecting their families, first and foremost. Has my child actually caught up from being locked out of school for two years?
“Is the president going to do the job securing our border and stopping the drug cartels from having operational control of our southern border?”
“Are we going to maintain the dollar as the world reserve currency while China is trying to negotiate around the United States?”
He mentioned high inflation plaguing families and the fentanyl pouring across the border.
“Those are the things that really matter to Americans.”
To get his point across without being interrupted, Donalds took to Twitter following his CNN appearance.
“The American people aren’t speaking about the 2020 election, a libel case after 25+ years, or January 6th. They are talking about the price of gas/groceries, fentanyl killing Americans 18-45, crime in the streets, & the fear of WWIII. CNN’s top issues aren’t America’s,” Donalds tweeted.
Former President Trump’s live town hall on CNN caused major meltdowns with Never Trumpers and leftists across the country.
People are furious with CNN CEO Chris Licht but he realizes that Trump gets ratings. But he may also have another motive.
The left knows that showcasing Trump fires up his base and may very well lead him to victory in the GOP primary.
They would consider that a win for their side as they don’t believe Trump can beat Joe Biden in the general election.
