Former Obama Aides Raise Concerns about Mumbling Biden, Who ‘Seems Older Than Ever’

“He sounds more frail than he used to,” remarked Jon Favreau, head speechwriter for ex-president Barack Obama.

Favreau and Dan Pfeiffer expressed concern about President Joe Biden’s age, describing it as “a very real issue.”

During an interview with “Pod Save America,” Favreau said, “The voice sounds frail, and he shuffles more because of the arthritis in his back.”

He added that the elderly president also appears “mumbly.”

Obama’s former speechwriter also noted how 80 percent of Americans are alarmed by Biden’s advancing age and that the White House can no longer ignore the issue because his mental and physical decline is very apparent.

Favreau also urged Biden to appear on camera more to reassure voters who are concerned about his age; this is amidst his growing list of gaffes and blunders.

“When world events seem like they are overtaking him and he’s not out there enough forcefully, that’s what’s getting people concerned,” Favreau thought.

Podcast co-host Jon Lovett, who was also Obama’s former writer, echoed his statements.

Meanwhile, another Obama staff Dan Pfeiffer in his interview with the Courier, shared his concerns.

Pfeiffer remarked, “If Biden can’t assuage, particularly among his voters from 2020, then I don’t think he can win the election — so in some ways, it’s the crux for his campaign.”

Obama’s former senior adviser suggested that the White House address concerns about Biden’s age, adding that this should be his “first strategic priority.”

“There’s a segment of voters who have decided — as of right now, I think their minds can be changed — who have decided that Joe Biden is too old for the job and can’t do it, so they’re not going to listen to anything he says,” he said.

Meanwhile, a recent Quinnipiac poll published on Wednesday, February 21, revealed that at least 70 percent of registered voters think Biden is “too old to effectively serve another four-year term as President.”

The survey was conducted from February 15 to 19, with 1,421 registered voters as respondents,
