GOP to FBI: Explain Iranian Plot to Kill Trump

You don’t need to be an expert to see how the deep state works extra hard to neutralize and paralyze Donald Trump’s campaign.

From suppressing information through colluding with search engine monopolist Google to a slow-walking investigation on the failed assassination of Trump, the people can all see the Deep State’s tentacles working.

Last Friday, top GOP lawmakers demanded answers from FBI’s director Christopher Wray and the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas after an Iranian agent was apprehended and charged by the Department of Justice for staging a plot to assassinate a politician or government official, including former president Trump.

The agent, identified as Asif Merchant, was a Pakistani national. The office of the US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York said that the suspect was slapped with charges for carrying out a murder-for-hire.

In a letter, House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green (R-Tennessee) and Rep. August Pfluger (R-Texas), chair of the panel’s subcommittee on counterterrorism, law enforcement, and intelligence, blasted the Biden-Harris regime for failing to combat Iran’s interference and its attack against known American officials.

The two GOP House reps asked the Justice Department to provide more details on the case filed against Merchant last week.

“We have serious concerns about the inadequate … actions taken by the Biden-Harris administration to impose consequences on the Iranian regime, including efforts to protect our national security and American citizens from foreign threats,” Reps. Green and Pfluger wrote.

A bipartisan letter to Wray and Mayorkas was also sent by Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC) Chairman Gary Peters (D-Michigan), Ranking Member Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Richard Blumenthal (D-Kentucky) and Ranking Member Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin)

The senators noted a report by Fox News Digital that the FBI had been observing Merchant before he entered the country. However, sources say the FBI waited for him inside the US to cement their case and arrest him.

“In light of this new information and to understand the extent of FBI’s and DHS’s awareness of Merchant and his plot, including the justification to allow him to enter the U.S.,” the Senators demand.

They also demand to know if the bureau shared the information with the Secret Service.

The Senators also noted that the FBI hasn’t responded yet to the request they made last month for “documents and information from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), including any intelligence regarding a series of enumerated threats known or being investigated in advance of the July 13, 2024 rally,” where Republican nominee and former president Trump survived an assassination attempt against him.
