Gov. DeSantis to Conduct Independent Probe on Trump’s Failed Assassination: “People Deserve the Truth”

In just two months, the former president of the United States has been an inch away from being assassinated twice. The Biden-Harris regime allowed and tolerated crime to surge in our country. Criminals, terrorists, and gangs run over our once-great nation and have ruled over our communities with grave impunity.

Impunity is everywhere. But one of the most unacceptable was the blatant attempt to kill Donald Trump, and the Democrat-led White House did nothing.

The current investigation by the FBI did not offer information except more questions and distrust of the corrupt communist Democrat regime.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who was appalled by the continuing security loopholes on President Trump even when it was just months ago that Thomas Mathew Crooks grazed the Republican nominee’s right ear, declared on Sunday that the state will hold a separate probe on the incident.

Earlier that day, President Trump was playing golf at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, when the US Secret Service noticed suspect Ryan Wesley Routh, armed with AK-47 and targeting the former president.

Agents of USSS quickly opened fire at Routh, who was carrying a GoPro camera, two backpacks, and a rifle.

The suspect quickly fled the scene but was stopped and arrested in the next county, according to authorities.

The former president was traversing on the fifth hole of his course when shots rang, and his security detail swarming over him while ushering him back to the clubhouse.

“The State of Florida will be conducting its own investigation regarding the attempted assassination at Trump International Golf Club. The people deserve the truth about the would-be assassin and how he was able to get within 500 yards of the former president and current GOP nominee,” DeSantis wrote on X.

In a press conference on Monday, the former presidential primary candidate shared that he had not met with Trump yet but would push through with the state investigation.

“I understand that the feds are involved but we do believe that there were multiple violations of state law,” DeSantis quipped.

“We also believe that there’s a need to make sure that the truth about all this comes out in a way, you know, that’s credible.”

“With all due respect (to the federal government) those same agencies that are prosecuting Trump in that jurisdiction are now going to be investigating this,” DeSantis asserted.

“I just think that that may not be the best thing for this country.”

The governor added that his office will provide more details on the incident in the following days.
