Amid the ongoing tension on the southern border, 25 states rally behind Texas Governor Greg Abbott in his firm stance against the open-border policy by the Biden administration.

This show of force comes after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the federal government, allowing them to dismantle concertina wires installed by Texas.

In early January, Governor Abbott deployed the Texas National Guard and set up 30 miles of razor wire in Eagle Pass, Texas, taking over a portion of Rio Grande. The Supreme Court voted 5-4 which overturned the decision made by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.

To support the Lone Star governor, 25 Republican governors backed Texas’ constitutional right to self-defense, signing a joint statement blasting President Joe Biden for its failure to enforce immigration laws and refusal to act upon the surge of migrants entering the US soil illegally.

The statement reads, “We stand in solidarity with our fellow Governor, Greg Abbott, and the State of Texas in utilizing every tool and strategy, including razor wire fences, to secure the border.”

“We do it in part because the Biden Administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally,” the group added.

Concluding their statement, the 25 GOP leaders remarked, “Because the Biden Administration has abdicated its constitutional compact duties to the states, Texas has every legal justification to protect the sovereignty of our states and our nation.”

Gov. Abbott earlier proclaimed Texas’ right to self-defense because the federal government broke its compact with the states.

The governor stood by his defiance and vowed to “continue to deploy this razor wire to repel illegal immigration,” as this proved to be an “effective deterrent against the illegal border crossings encouraged by Biden’s open border policies.”

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem praised Governor Abbott for his unwavering stance and hit Biden for creating a national crisis.

Noem expressed her support and said, “I am willing to send the National Guard down there to stand alongside.”

Mike DeWine, governor of Ohio, sounded alarm at the southern border and called the situation “untenable.”

DeWine also described Biden’s immigration policies as a “total failure” and vowed to back Texas in its defense of the southern border.

“Ohio will continue to do our part to support Texas and support policies to secure our border,” quipped DeWine.

Moreover, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee wrote in a tweet, “If President Biden won’t defend us, states will have to defend themselves. Arkansas stands with Texas.”

Former President Donald Trump also called on all states to support Governor Abbott and send their National Guard to defend the southern border.

“We encourage all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of illegals, and to remove them back across the Border,” wrote Trump on his Truth Social.

Biden gave the Texas government 24 hours to heed orders and warned of consequences if they refused to stand down.
