Former President Donald Trump called out Brian Stelter for being let go at CNN.

After the news broke that Stelter was being let go from CNN, Trump took to Truth Social.

“Brian Stelter of Fake News CNN got fired because he lied, and lied, and lied – ABOUT ME. May he REST IN PEACE!” the former president said.

Stelter’s last show will air this Sunday, CNN shared.

“CNN will end its ‘Reliable Sources’ program on Sunday, August 21st. As a result Brian Stelter will leave the company. We appreciate his contributions to the network and wish him well as he embarks on new endeavors,” a CNN spokesperson said to Fox News.

Stelter talked to NPR about him leaving CNN and said that he is grateful for the show and that his team examined “the media, truth and the stories that shape our world.”

“It was a rare privilege to lead a weekly show focused on the press at a time when it has never been more consequential,” he said.

Stelter said he would have more to say on his last show this Sunday.

“Stelter came to CNN from the New York Times as the nation’s top media reporter. He departs CNN an impeccable broadcaster,” CNN’s executive vice president for talent and content development, Amy Entelis, said. “We are proud of what Brian and his team accomplished over the years, and we’re confident their impact and influence will long outlive the show.”

Lots of people had something to say about his departure from CNN.

Greg Gutfeld tweeted, “Yo @brianstelter- my show is hiring.”

Tim Pool said, “I look forward to recognizing Brian Stelter as he runs up to my car at a red light to try and wash my windshield hoping I’ll give him some cash.”

Greg Price said, “Liz Cheney and Brian Stelter are gone in the span of three days. This is amazing.”

Many believe that Stelter’s departure is a result of John Malone.

Malone is an influential person at WarnerBros. Discovery and he has been vocal about CNN being more centrist.

“I would like to see CNN evolve back to the kind of journalism that it started with, and actually have journalists, which would be unique and refreshing,” Malone said during an interview with CNBC last November.

“I do believe good journalism could have a role in this future portfolio that Discovery-TimeWarner’s going to represent,” he added at the time.

Jeffrey Toobin was let go, now Stelter and it is rumored that Don Lemon is next.

CNN has consistently been tanking in the rating game, and recently had their $300 million disaster that was CNN+.
