Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis recently announced a series of legislative proposals to crack down on corporations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who are promoting illegal immigration into the state.
In a Press Conference last week, the Governor announced the following legislative actions to tackle illegal immigration across the state caused mainly by the Biden administration:
- Ban state and local agencies from doing business and providing benefits to any private-sector business or NGO that helps promote or facilitate illegal immigration in Florida.
- Ban state agencies from renewing state contracts with transportation companies like airlines and bus services, that facilitate illegal immigration to Florida.
- Require private-sector businesses and NGOs, who facilitate illegal immigration to Florida, to provide compensation to the state of Florida to cover all costs that fall on taxpayers.
- Mandate county and local jails, as well as courts, to collect immigration status data at the time of a suspect’s arrest and conviction. The information would be reported to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
- Ban Florida officials from providing any discretionary benefits to illegal aliens while state agencies and hospitals will be required to annually report taxpayer-funded expenses for illegal aliens.
- Add the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity as an enforcer of E-Verify.
According to Breitbart News, DeSantis also “announced an emergency order that bans the issuance or renewal of all state licenses to provide services to Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) who are resettled across Florida. The order is effective immediately.”
These actions are the first in the nation by any state or local government agency taken to outlaw private businesses and NGOs that are allegedly used by the Biden Administration to relocate thousands of illegal migrants across the country, especially in Republican states.
Recently, the DeSantis administration discovered that under the leadership of Joe Biden, federal agencies have flown at least 70 private flights full of illegal immigrants into the state of Florida. Oftentimes during late hours.
