The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Tuesday announced that Inspector General Joseph Cuffari will not investigate the ‘horse-mounted Border Patrol Agents’ for doing their job at the Southern Border.

Earlier in September, photos circulated of Border Patrol Agents confronting and stopping illegal Haitian migrants from entering the United States from the banks of the Rio Grande near the Acuna Del Rio International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas.

The liberal media industrial complex and many prominent Democrat officials immediately jumped to unreasonable conclusions and accused the agents of ‘using whips’ to beat the migrants and compared it with horrific slavery age tactics.

This lead The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to launch an internal investigation following public outcry on woke twitter and amongst prominent Democrat circles including that of President Joe Biden who at the time said, “those people will pay” referring to the brave Border Patrol agents who were performing their duties.

At least two border patrol agents were placed on administrative duties following the incident and the horse patrol unit was immediately suspended from operating Del Rio, Texas. This region involves a very narrow strip of the international bridge that is used by many illegal migrants to gather under and attempt crossing the border into the United States.

CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) commenced the investigation and reviewed several photographs and videos and also conducted multiple interviews of witnesses and CBP agents.

The investigation results then went unto the CBP management who justifies if the agents and/or anyone in-charged will face consequences.

“At that time, the employees will be afforded due process, including an opportunity to respond, and any corrective actions will comport with applicable laws and regulations. The disciplinary process, which is separate from the fact-finding investigation, is subject to certain timelines established in CBP’s labor-management agreement with the employees’ union of the United States Border Patrol,” DHS website notes.

The ongoing OPR investigation will share initial findings with the U.S. attorney’s office “to alert federal prosecutors of the facts of the case and ensure that administrative actions do not inadvertently compromise any potential criminal investigation”
