Early Voting is underway in Florida. Making sure that school board members don’t bow down to teacher unions is vital for a good education for students.
The Biden administration has proposed stupid changes and interpretations of Title IX and Title VII.
The original Title IX states:
“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
While the original Title VII stated:
“Prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin.”
The proposed changes add more detail to “sex stereotypes” and “gender identity.”
“The Department therefore proposes that the current regulations should be amended to provide greater clarity regarding the scope of sex discrimination, including recipients’ obligations not to discriminate based on sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity.”
Florida, being the bastion of sanity, issued a memo to all school districts that they are not required to comply with the Biden administration’s proposed changes.
According to En-evolve:
“Those changes would require schools that receive federal funding to allow boys and girls access to opposite sex bathrooms if they identify that way. Under Biden’s Title VII interpretation, funding would be withheld from lunch programs that do not comply.”
Teacher unions are backed by the National Education Association and have donated heavily to the Biden campaign, supported the changes, and stated that the changes were made into federal law.
The Clay County Education Association sent a memo stating that some politicians are attacking the LGBTQ students and staff. They also echoed the leftist headline “Don’t Say Gay Bill.”
En-evolve reported:
Diaz wanted to make clear to school that the “guidance” issued by the federal education and agriculture agencies “are not binding law, do not create any new legal obligations, and should not be treated as governing law.” That guidance, Diaz told schools, has even been acknowledged by the USDOE as under litigation, representing the administration’s “interpretation” of Title IX and Title VII.
“As such,” Diaz cautions, “you should not treat the USDOE or USDA guidance documents as binding or otherwise modify your practices or procedures based on these documents.
“Specifically,” he goes on, “for example, nothing in these guidance documents requires you to give biological males who identify as female access to female bathrooms, locker rooms, or dorms; to assign biological males who identify as female to female rooms on school field trips’ or to allow biological males who identify as female to compete on female sports teams.”
The leftist media and unions lie about the so-called “Title IX.” Title IX is a law, but the new proposals are not. The new guidelines are idiotic and senseless when regarding gender identity.
“Title IX is a federal law that was enacted more than 50 years ago to prohibit sex-based discrimination in educational institutions. The U.S. Department of Education last month released a proposal that it said would “provide greater clarity regarding the scope” of sex discrimination.
…
Diaz took issue with the interpretation of Title IX to include sexual orientation and gender identity.”
Manny Diaz Jr. is the commissioner of Florida’s Department of Education, and he shows why it is so important to vote in local elections. It is essential to vote for School board members who do not bow down to unions. Let’s hope that Florida remains steadfast when facing radical changes from the left.
