Rosie O’Donnell has been an interesting source of controversy. While perhaps not quite as visible in her stupidity as, say, alumni of The View, Whoopi Goldberg, she has certainly been just as palpable. She has been in the fray previously. She had a fairly silly but infamous feud with former President Donald Trump.

This was when then-candidate Trump was fielding a question from Megyn Kelley regarding his treatment of women. Trump’s response was simply, “only Rosie O’Donnell. In the past, he has also said that she talks like a truck driver.

Ben Shapiro also got into a scuffle with her on Twitter. Long story short, she made a sexual threat against him. It got a little weird.

Now, it is being reported that:

Rosie O’Donnell came clean saying she regrets making fun of Hollywood star Anne Heche who is in a coma after a horrific car crash. Rosie said:

“I can’t stop thinking about this Anne Heche accident and how horrifying the whole thing is and feeling bad that I made fun of her when she was talking to Barbara Walters about having a relationship with space aliens.

“If we have an honest discussion about drunk driving, we find out just how prevalent it is and that’s terrifying, isn’t it? I wonder if she’s OK. I think it’s a miracle that she didn’t kill anyone and I hope she survives.

“But wow, what a tragic tale. That car was on fire for a long time, they say.”

Rosie then asked her followers to seek help “if they are struggling” with alcoholism.

“Try it before it’s too late,” she said. Try it before you’re at your lowest.”

Rosie may have slandered Heche as the police have not charged her with DUI and one report says she was sober 20 minutes before the crash.

Why is Rosie feeling so guilty? She made fun of Heche for bearing her soul to Barbar Walters. Heche told Walters that she was molested by her father and she created a fantasy world to deal with it.

“I’m not crazy. But it’s a crazy life. I was raised in a crazy family and it took 31 years to get the crazy out of me.

“I had a fantasy world that I escaped to. I called my other personality Celestia.

“I believed I was from that world. I believed I was from another planet. I think I was insane.”

“What the hell kind of train wreck was that?” Rosie said at the time, something that would get her canceled today for sure.

Rosie went on say:

“She couldn’t just say, ‘I was a lesbian for two years, it didn’t work out for me?’

So, the alleged comedian has once again landed herself in hot water. Though, it should probably be noticed that this is the first instance where she showed any kind of contrition, let alone showed an attempt to muster an apology.

Anne Heche, of course, should be shown a great deal of compassion. It would be wrong to say that her mental issues (that is not meant disrespectfully in any way) absolve or should immunize her from the consequences of these serious actions.

However, it should be put into perspective. Hopefully, she gets the help that she needs.
