As the protest in Chicago swelled, participants blocked major intersections, expressing their discontent with the election outcome. One observer noted, “Huge mob of protesters outside Trump tower in Chicago. They should be happy that prices will be going down soon, wages will be going up, and our border will be secure. In New York City, students at New York University gathered near Cadman Plaza Park, focusing their chants on the contentious issue of Israel and Palestine. Their slogans included, “NYU, your hands are red, over a hundred thousand dead!” and “Hey hey, ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go.” — News is Dead.

A smaller protest also emerged in Philadelphia, reflecting the waning support for Kamala Harris in this traditionally Democratic stronghold. “BREAKING: Philadelphia is currently organizing an anti-Trump protest after President Elect Trump won the election last night. Chicago is also currently protesting,” tweeted Dom Lucre.

Internationally, protests were reported in the British city of York, where a handful of hard-left activists made their sentiments clear. “Donald Trumps not welcome here!” — Darren Grimes.

Additionally, a group of liberal women protested outside the U.S. Embassy in London, voicing their opposition to Trump’s policies. “We’re here to say no to Trump. We’re here to say no to his racism, to his bigotry, to his homophobia, his transphobia his attacks on migrants,” stated Oli London.

While these demonstrations may be relatively small in scale, they signal a broader unrest among Democrats who are still grappling with the election results. As history has shown, such discontent can lead to more significant unrest, reminiscent of the riots during the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020.

In contrast, Trump now possesses a clear mandate to address these challenges head-on.
