Fox News legal analyst and constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley told “America Reports” on Monday that he doubts Trump’s guilty verdict will stand on appeal.
Sandra Smith, the host of the show, quipped, “I want to move on to the Trump latest, because here we are, Monday, fresh off the Trump trial and the guilty verdict for the former president.”
“Where do you see it going now that you’ve had a weekend to think about it?”
Turley replied: “Few people outside of Manhattan have a lot of faith in the New York system right now. Former President Trump may have some slow sliding initially on appeal but many of us see layers of reversible error here, and it could end up in front of the Supreme Court. I personally don’t see how this verdict can be sustained. I was in that courtroom, and I was shocked by how the court was ruling. I would hope that eventually, maybe not initially, that eventually, an appeal will prevail in the verdict will be thrown out.”
Co-host John Roberts also asked, “Is there a possibility of this going to the Supreme Court before it goes to the appellate court in New York on an emergency petition?”
Turley shared his views on Trump’s sham trial in Manhattan in an op-ed piece in The Hill.
The legal analyst also advised Soros-funded prosecutor Alvin Bragg to hold off his celebrations, as his political persecution against the former president is a “target-rich environment for an appeal, with multiple layers of reversible error, in my view.”
According to Turley, the blunders can be divided into four groups: The Judge, The Charges, The evidence, and The Instructions.
Contrary to previous claims that it was a random selection process, the truth is that Judge Juan Merchan was handpicked to preside over this sham trial.

Moreover, Merchan is one conflicted man, and in fact, this judge was one of President Joe Biden’s donors. Later on, it would be revealed that this judge had donated to the group Stop The GOP and Trump.
“What is equally disturbing is the failure of Merchan to protect the rights of the defendant and what even critics admit were distinctly pro-prosecution rulings in the trial. It is not just the appearance of a conflict with Judge Merchan but a record of highly biased decisions,” Turley wrote.
Another point against the sham hearing was Alvin Bragg’s charges against Trump.
“Bragg decided to use an unprecedented criminal theory not only to zap a dead misdemeanor into life (after the expiration of the statute of limitation) but to allow him to try violations of not only federal election law but also federal taxation violations. In other words, the Justice Department would not prosecute federal violations, so Bragg effectively did it in state court,” Fox News legal analyst remarked.
Evidence on the case is also erroneous, and the conflicted judge allowed the “torrent of immaterial and prejudicial evidence” to be presented in the court by the prosecution panel.
Lastly, in the Instructions, Turley hoped that the jury would cast some light on the bogus trials. However, this was “largely smashed” by Merchan in his instructions to the jury.
“When the verdict came in, we were still unsure what Trump was convicted of.”
“Merchan allowed the jury to find that the secondary offense was any of the three vaguely defined options.”
Turley concluded, “They are the reason why many of us view this case is likely to be reversed in either the state or federal systems. None of that is likely to dampen the thrill in this kill in Manhattan.”
Donald Trump sacrificed a life of luxury to be convicted in a fake trial, with a rigged jury, a communist judge, a communist DA, a communist state AG, a Communist Governor, a communist DOJ, and a dictator living in the White House.
