JUST IN: New Poll Shows Trump Approval Surging Seven Points In Two Weeks

President Donald Trump’s approval rating has experienced a notable rise in recent days, according to a newly released Rasmussen Reports poll on Monday, signaling a major turnaround from earlier in the month. The latest daily tracking data shows that 50% of likely voters approve of Trump’s performance in office, compared to 48% who disapprove. This marks a significant shift from April 27, when his approval stood at 47% and disapproval at 52%.

This seven-point swing in the net approval margin over a two-week period points to increasing public backing for Trump’s forceful second-term initiatives, which have featured a wave of executive actions, major policy changes, and a decisive break from the Biden administration’s direction.

Instead of gradually easing back into the presidency, Trump launched his second term with aggressive momentum. In just over 100 days, he has issued more than 140 executive orders—an unprecedented pace in modern presidential history. These orders have centered on reshaping immigration, rolling back federal regulations, and adopting a more confrontational approach to global trade.

A major pillar of Trump’s early agenda has been immigration reform. He re-declared a national emergency at the southern border, rolled back asylum policies, and reactivated deportation protocols that had been softened by his predecessor. Among his more headline-grabbing measures was the introduction of a voluntary self-deportation program that offers undocumented immigrants $1,000 and a free plane ticket home—a strategy the administration says could reduce deportation costs by 70%.

Trump’s focus has not been limited to domestic issues. On April 2—referred to as “Liberation Day”—he imposed a universal 10% tariff on all imported goods, with additional tariffs targeting specific countries like China, Mexico, and Canada. The markets initially responded negatively, driving the S&P 500 into correction territory, but many of Trump’s supporters applauded the move as a bold defense of American manufacturing and economic independence.

Over the weekend, Trump expanded his trade strategy by announcing a 100% tariff on all foreign-made films, calling it both a matter of national security and a cultural initiative aimed at revitalizing the U.S. film industry.

“I am authorizing the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative to begin immediately implementing a 100% Tariff on all movies produced abroad,” Trump declared. “WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!”

In addition, Trump has begun cutting back the federal bureaucracy. The newly established Department of Government Efficiency—headed by Elon Musk—has started dismantling programs linked to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and is overseeing the planned shutdown of the Department of Education.

On the international stage, Trump has withdrawn the U.S. from the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Agreement, and he has officially labeled Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations. Though Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum rejected Trump’s offer to send U.S. troops to assist in fighting the cartels, the proposal underscored his firm stance on border enforcement.

The latest polling data indicates that these bold moves are resonating with voters.

With approval ratings now back above the 50% threshold, Trump is building momentum as the 2026 midterm elections approach. If this trend continues, it could reinforce his dominance within the Republican Party and maintain his strong presence in national political discourse well into the future.
