Amazing news came from the Bluegrass State on Saturday.

According to a report, Republicans now outnumber registered Democrats in Kentucky, for the first time ever.

“Although the commonwealth has long largely voted for Republicans in national and local elections in recent years, Democrats still officially had an edge in registered voters going back over a hundred years,” The Daily Wire reported.

“On Friday, new data shows that Republicans have 1,612,060 registered voters while Democrats have 1,609,569 registered voters,” the report continued.

“Kentucky’s Republican Secretary of State Michael Adams noted of the historic shift: “After a century and a half, the birthplace of Lincoln has finally aligned with the party of Lincoln. Today is a grand day for all of us in the Grand Old Party who have worked so hard for so long to advance our goals of limited government and personal responsibility.”

Senators Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell both celebrated the historic moment.

“We are living a historic moment in the commonwealth,” Paul said. “The majority of people in Kentucky realize that their beliefs are best represented by the Republican Party.”

McConnell added that he never thought Republicans would ever achieve the milestone.

Democrat Governor Andy Beshear won a slim victory in 2019, so he knows he faces an even tougher re-election race in 2023.

“What it means is we’ve got to get along,” Beshear told reporters after being asked about the voter registration figures. “We ought to stop trying to fight to move the state right or left but to just move it forward. And to focus on things that truly impact people’s lives — like good jobs, a great public education, and access to health care.”

Kentucky isn’t the only state that had Republicans pass Democrats in registered voters. In December, it was announced that Florida Republicans had more registered voters than Democrats for the first time ever.

The Conservative Brief reported:

“There’s no beating around the fact this historic gain is because of Governor Ron DeSantis,” Florida Republican Party executive director Helen Aguirre Ferré told Fox News then. “Florida voters are appreciative of the palpable sense of freedom he has created in our state.”

Last week, a report noted that registered Republican voters now outnumber registered Democrats by more than 200,000, which is a historic advantage given that the latter had dominated voter registration in the Sunshine State for decades.

“Historically, Democrats have held the clear advantage, but the tide began to noticeably turn over the last two years, as Americans sought shelter from ongoing coronavirus restrictions and vaccine mandates, thrusting the Sunshine State into the spotlight,” Breitbart News reported, adding:

Unlike blue states, DeSantis refused to implement a mask mandate and reopened schools and businesses early on, emphasizing the need for Americans to make their own decisions. That approach continued as President Biden and Democrats attempted to force vaccines on the American people. All the while, DeSantis and Florida Republicans adamantly opposed such mandates and fought against them. And at the end of 2021, Republicans officially overtook Democrats in terms of voter registration in Florida.

Republican voter registrations surpassed Democrats last year in a historic first and the party’s been steadily increasing its advantage since.
