Alveda King, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece, recently slammed President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for using race to push for federal voting legislation he wants. President Biden highlighted Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy to call for action on his voting legislation on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. “On this federal holiday honoring him, appreciating him isn’t enough,” he said. “We must commit to his unfinished job of giving employment and justice, as well as defending the treasured right to vote.”
“There is a severe assault on our democracy,” he stated. “It’s no longer just a matter of who gets to vote; it’s also a matter of who gets to count the ballots and whether your vote counts at all.” “During his time, Dr. King held up a mirror to America and prompted us to ask ourselves, ‘Where do we stand?'” “Which side are we on?” the president inquired. “Right now, we’re at another era where America is being held up as a mirror.” According to Just The News, King Jr.’s niece believes that voter ID is essential “because if we tell someone they don’t need an ID, they don’t count,” she said on the John Solomon Reports podcast.
“What Biden is doing is stoking the race card, race baiting, playing the race card, and seeking to evoke passion,” she explained. “Martin Luther King, Jr. was a prophet and a preacher before he was a civil rights leader,” King said. “Then you have to put it all together and represent human dignity from birth to death.” “Now, that’s not what Biden is doing – President Biden, Vice President Harris, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of them aren’t doing it.” They’re preying on people’s emotions to obtain what they want. “It’s like having temper tantrums when you’re at the top of this corporation,” she stated.
“State legislative bodies continue to alter the statute, not in terms of who may vote, but of who counts the ballots.” ” Vote! Vote! Vote! Vote! Vote! Count the votes! It’s all about meddling with elections! If only it were as simple as whether or not people had the right to vote!” Biden screamed. “Who counts the votes?” he asked again. “That’s what this is all about, and it’s what distinguishes it from anything else we’ve ever done.” “As long as I have a breath in me, as long as I’m in the White House, as long as I’m engaged in any manner,” he concluded, “I’m going to fight to change the way these legislatures have been moving.”
