Jesse Watters continues to dominate the cable news ratings, leaving CNN and MSNBC in his wake.
According to Wednesday’s numbers, Fox News crushed the competition again, with Watters landing two shows in the top 5. Fox News also had 6 of the top 15 shows for the day.
CNN could only muster one show in the top 25 and only 4 in the top 50. MSNBC didn’t have any shows in the top 50, and the network’s replacement for Rachel Maddow finished below even Chris Hayes.
Watters had a great day, with his show “The Five” coming in at #2 and his show “Watters’ World” coming in at #5.
This is just further proof that Fox News is the top network for news and information, and that Jesse Watters is one of the biggest stars on the network.
The Fox News host’s show, The Five, came in fourth place in the cable news ratings last week. But his primetime show, Jesse Watters’ World, landed in the top spot.
And that’s not all. Watters’ show was the most-watched show in all of cable last week, beating out even the likes of MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Fox News’s Sean Hannity.
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow replacement didn’t just finish below Chris Hayes–it couldn’t even crack the top 50.
CNN had one show in the top 25: Anderson Cooper 360, which came in at number 21.
Watters’ success comes as Fox News continues to dominate the cable news landscape. The network finished first in both total viewers and the 25-54 demographic for March.
And for the first quarter of 2017, Fox News was the most-watched network on cable, averaging 2.4 million viewers in primetime. MSNBC was second with 1.7 million viewers, followed by CNN with 1.3 million.
The news is a major blow to CNN and MSNBC, who have been struggling to keep up with Fox News in the rating race. And it’s a huge coup for Watters, who has quickly become one of the most popular hosts on Fox News.

So what’s behind Watters’ success?
For one, he has a knack for generating headlines. Last week, Watters made waves when he suggested that NFL players who kneel during the national anthem should be forced to leave the country.
“If you don’t love our country, get the hell out,” Watters said.
Watters also has a loyal following among Trump supporters, who tune in to his show to get a dose of pro-Trump propaganda. And Watters is happy to oblige, regularly attacking the media and Democrats on his show.
But whatever the reason for Watters’ success, there’s no denying that he is a powerful force in cable news right now. And with two shows in the top five, he is dominating the rating game.
Watters’ success is a sign of the changing dynamics of the cable news landscape. For years, MSNBC and CNN dominated the ratings during the daytime hours, while Fox News dominated in primetime.
But that dynamic has shifted in recent months, as Fox News has seen its daytime rating surge while MSNBC and CNN have struggled. In August, Fox News was the most-watched network on cable news during both daytime and primetime hours.
