On Tuesday, the House GOP lawmakers failed to muster enough votes to finally impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas for refusing to impose immigration laws after an arduous floor debate, despite winning a key procedural vote.
The motion to impeach Mayorkas based on the two articles released by Republican lawmakers was struck down in Congress, with 214 voting in favor of the resolution while 216 opposed it.
However, all hope is not lost, as House representatives remarked that they will lobby the motion again once Majority Leader Steve Scalise, who is undergoing treatment for blood cancer, returns to Congress.
“We’ll bring it back,” pledged Homeland Security Chair Mark Green (R-Tennessee), who led the campaign to impeach Mayorkas.
Reps. Ken Buck (R-Colorado), Mike Gallagher (R-Wisconsin), and Tom McClintock (R-California) all sided with the Democrats.
According to reports, Republicans spent several minutes trying to change Gallagher’s mind. Members warned the Wisconsin representative of possible intense backlash from his base.
To ensure that House Republicans could bring the impeachment resolution again for a later vote, Rep. Blake Moore (R-Utah) voted no.
This setback led to a massive uproar on social media.
Gary Ruot, a staffer for The Raging Patriot, slammed the Republican lawmakers who flipped their votes to “No.”
“You are worse than democrats,” wrote Ruot on X.
Rep. Eli Crane of Arizona pressed that “Impeachment is necessary.”
Crane added, “3 years after Secretary Mayorkas was installed to supervise the Biden admin’s sabotage of our border — a task he has carried out with exceptional success for 37 months.”
Co-founder of The Raging Patriot, Nicholas Pagnotta, encouraged constituents of “4 RINO scumbags” to “call every one of them tomorrow to let them know they are traitors to the party.”
Meanwhile, others noted that amid the procedural hearing, the Democrats repeatedly objected and interrupted the entire process.
For Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Green, “This is not over yet.” The committee plans to bring back the articles of impeachment as early as next week.
Meanwhile, Chuck Callesto wrote on X, referring to four Republicans who voted No, “Should they be replaced?”
“Apparently Congress doesn’t ACTUALLY believe in accountability for the guy enabling a literal invasion of our country,” says Nick Sortor.
Republican lawmakers have been compiling evidence and arguments to strengthen their case against Mayorkas. If they succeed, it will be the first time that a Cabinet official has been impeached since 1876.

Those 4 that did not vote to impeach should resign! You are there to protect the voters in your state or district. How on earth could you vote no???? It is more than obvious he has to go!
