Republican Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn on Thursday was interviewed by Breitbart News. In this interview, she blasted Pete Buttigieg, the U.S. Secretary of Transportation for not being present and handling the record-breaking historic crisis as thousands of flights are getting canceled and many ports are facing historic delays.
“We’re in the middle of a transportation crisis, and Pete Buttigieg is sitting at home. Meanwhile, cargo boats are unable to dock and shelves are sitting empty. Pete needs to either get back to work or leave the Department of Transportation. It’s time to put American families first.” Senator Blackburn told Breitbart News.
According to Politico, Buttigieg is on paid leave since mid-August, spending time with his husband and their “newborn” babies and avoiding responsibilities.
“For the first four weeks, he was mostly offline except for major agency decisions and matters that could not be delegated,” A spokesperson for the Department of Transportation told Politico. “He has been ramping up activities since then.” As he does that, Buttigieg will “continue to take some time over the coming weeks to support his husband and take care of his new children,” the spokesperson added.
“A visible sea of congestion at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach” was reported on Monday. Similar port delays are observed this week. Last month, historic 62 cargo ships waited for around ten days to dock in the LA and Long Beach ports.

The White House also shamelessly agreed that “there will be things you can’t get” for Christmas. Thanks to their weak leadership.
The Biden effect is not just limited to ports. This month, Southwest Airlines canceled over 2,000 flights and delayed several hundred more blaming it on “climate” but in reality, several pilots, cabin crew, baggage handlers, and ATF workers were forced to step down because of Biden’s vaccine mandate policy.
The Transportation Secretary amid all this chaos remains on a “paid leave” just like the “transparency” of the Biden administration during several of its failures like Border, Afghanistan, Inflation, Buttigieg is silent while flights are canceled and ports facing long delays.
The only public comment that Buttigieg has made amid all this chaos is to honor “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” aka Columbus Day
Even in this tweet, he never honored the legacy of Christopher Columbus and pandered to the woke twitter mob with “Indigenous” talk instead.
