Lebron James has been in the spotlight recently as people observed him entering the USC Galen Center and sat down amid the national anthem.

James attends the game to watch the debut of his 18-year-old son, who suffered a cardiac arrest in July. His son joins the USC Trojans. The freshman scored a three-pointer chase-down block, a steal, and a free throw.

Despite his son’s success, James was under fire on social media as the NBA star seemed no respect as “The Star-Spangled Banner” was played on speakers, and did not even bother to take off his hat.

One X user remarked, “He sold out to China years ago.”

Co-owner of Trending Politics Collin Rugg expressed dismay and said, “Zero respect for the country that gave him the opportunity to be a basketball star.”

“Zero respect for the country that allowed him to become a billionaire.”

“Zero respect for the men and women who defend our country so he can live his life.”

Rugg called James’ actions, “Shameful.”

Dear America host Graham Allen called the basketball personality “piece of garbage.”

Another X user urged people to “cancel him.”

“Lebron James is a whiny, crybaby, entitled, self-centered, jerk who would rather flop or quit, rather than lift his team when they’re down. He’s not even in the top five greatest basketball players of all time, but he’s constantly referring to himself as the GOAT.

His sitting for the National Anthem doesn’t surprise me in the least. He probably didn’t even notice it was playing, and even if he did, he wouldn’t have cared.

I’d have been more surprised if he’d stood,” said Podcast host Zeek Arkham.

Larry Jones Jr. criticized the four-time MVP and noted how hypocritical the basketball player was.

“LeBron James claims to be an advocate for social justice and human rights, but his Nike’s are made in China by sl*ve laborers inside sweatshops.”

Before this, LeBron also faced backlash as NPA on ESPN showed him shouting “Let’s go!” and rallying the crowd just as the national anthem was concluding during a Los Angeles Lakers game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

He was also criticized for his stance on the NBA-China issue. The player slammed Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey for supporting the Hong Kong demonstrators.

“Yes, we do have freedom of speech, but at times there are ramifications for the negative that can happen when you are not thinking about others and only thinking about yourself,” said LeBron.
