There is a classification system for national security documents. In case you have not heard. It is to protect documents from people who do not have the proper clearances from reading the papers and potentially gaining knowledge they should not have.
It is probably the most misused process in the government and that speaks volumes considering the United States government is infamous for misusing everything. The red tape in Washington D.C. amounts to a Mount Everest of paperwork and documentation.
Any document can be tagged as classified. An email sent on the State Department’s classified email system is immediately tagged with being classified. It is categorized as confidential, secret, or top-secret.
If you are in the middle of work and it’s a busy day, but you just remembered Katie’s birthday who works in accounting. You don’t have time to jump on another computer system. You shoot Katie an email wishing her a glorious happy birthday. Well, that email is now classified.
There are thousands upon thousands of useless documents falling under the classified category. When the FBI’s search warrant details classified documents, keep in mind, that Trump’s grocery list could be in there.
The process of declassifying documents is rather complicated. President Obama issued Executive Order 13526 detailing a step-by-step procedure to declassify documents.
However, Obama did have the foresight to keep the President and Vice-President from following those rules. He explicitly exempted the sitting Commander-in-chief and vice president from having to follow those procedures.
Obama’s order means the President and Vice-President can declassify any document at any time without going through the proper procedures. President Trump can speak the magic words and bam, the document is no longer classified.
On Monday, August 8th, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents executed a search warrant at the former President’s Mar a Lago home in Palm Beach, Florida. They were looking for classified documents.
They did not hear the President speak the magic words when he packed up and left the White House in 2021. Making the raid even stranger is the fact that President Trump stated to reporters saying “ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS ASK.”
The Federal Agents were looking for documents the President took with him when he left the White House. Documents the President can deem declassified any time he wants. On Friday evening, Trump’s office stated Justthenews.com regarding classified documents.
“He had a standing order that documents removed from the Oval Office and taken into the residence were deemed to be declassified,” his office stated. Is it surprising to hear the President had to take documents out of the Oval Office to continue working through the night?
The Department of Justice has released the evidence receipt of the incursion into President Trump’s residence. The list includes vague terms such as leather-bound books of documents. The list is vague on purpose because it wasn’t about the documents.
It is a fishing attempt to find anything related to the events of January 6th, 2021. Biden’s FBI and DOJ are desperate to find anything that keeps Trump off the Ballot in 2024. If it was legitimate, they wouldn’t have waited three days to execute the warrant.
The political attack dogs of the Democrat party are getting more and more confident they can do what they want. They may have made a grave mistake here and awoken the sleeping giant.
